We're still not quite done with the new site yet... but until then enjoy our blog and forum! Een make a moving-brick-movie (tm) if you want!
The BricksInMotion Technical Excellence Competition (TEC) is meant to be a way to reward and spur on the members of our community that pursue flawless animation and new avenues of camerawork in the stop motion medium. Entrants will be able to submit a clip (using only one camera shot) 10-40 seconds long to a panel of judges. The judges will then grade the animation based on it's technical merit and reward the top two entries with the following prizes:
Rules:
- Clips must contain 10 to 40 seconds of animation.
- Clips must begin with a 5 second title screen stating the name of the entry and the entrant (this does not count toward the 10 to 40 seconds stated previously).
- Clips must use only one camera shot.
- Clips must contain no audio.
- Clips must not contain any sexual, perverse, or foul content.
- Clips must be filmed using only stop motion animation; live action, flash, and 3D material will be disqualified.
- Clips must use LEGO® bricks or other toy block mediums.
- Entries submitted after 12:00 AM PDT on August 13th, 2008 will not be accepted.
- Clips cannot have been posted prior to the end of TEC.
- Clips may belong to a separate film so long as the film has not been posted online or submitted to another contest prior to the end of TEC.
- Clips must have a resolution of at least 640 x 480 and must be under 200mb.
Submitting a Clip:
A link to your clip must be submitted to tecsubmissions@bricksinmotion.com with the subject "TEC Submission:" followed by the name of the entry by 12:00 AM PDT on August 13th, 2008. Clips should not be emailed as attachments and should be uploaded to a separate server. If you need help finding a host for your clip or need more space than you are given by your usual host, please contact Jonathan Schlaepfer at admin@bricksinmotion.com at least three hours prior to the deadline.
