Director's Comments

Some people say that a movie isn't complete without its soundtrack. Is that true? Can you really build atmosphere and tell a story with only visuals? (And not in an 'Avatar' sense....)

Staff Review

Hoogle:
It's an interesting challenge to set out to do a completely silent film in this day and age and the interesting challenge brought us an interesting film. Max Butcher really did convincingly build the dark almost sinister atmosphere with just the visuals. His choice of unique angles and very creative transitions between shots brings this atmosphere to you. The story and the way it was presented is open for your interpretations it allows to fill in your own details however I felt through this way of storytelling I never got to know who anyone was and so characters do suffer. Overall I would say Max accomplished his goal of setting up atmosphere with only visuals.
