Staff Review

david reino :
These days, a brickfilm with a gripping and compelling storyline, in combination with interesting characters, has truly become a rarity. Many attempts at such a film are unsuccessful in one or more of these areas, with characters that are dull or poorly executed action sequences. Not so with "A Certain Trigger", the follow-up to Project Eternity and the first episode in Tripod's Dark Bounty series. This film does a very good job at establishing a dreary city environment, and the story and characters that inhabit this city are clearly well-thought out. What stands out in "A Certain Trigger", however, is its ability to hold the audience's interest. From the dreary opening shot at the beginning to the exciting action sequence near the end, this film is not only able to capture your attention, but sustain it as the action and dialogue play out. A few technical setbacks should be no valid reason to pass up this first episode in a great series.
