As Jim Gordon would say: "We start carrying semi automatics, they buy automatics, we start wearing Kevlar, they buy armor piercing rounds."

Require email confirmation, write a bot to confirm the email. Throw in something that only humans can read like Captcha and they'll write a program so that it can read for them. These are temporary defenses that have a service life of 5 or less years. They need to be constantly updated because bad guys don't take vacations and they can work for peanuts, allergies notwithstanding. This is a war that may lead to an Orwellian future of DNA-based verification and DNA-based black market crimes.

If updating the forum is a priority---and we've seen what priority means in a place staffed by volunteers--this will be a spambot-infested forum by the time you're done updating the forum in 2021. Maybe then our Mayan Overlords will decree spamming a capital offense, punishable by death.

Today I saw someone advertising a T-Shirt website. Here are his only two posts:
Many of these great people are managers of unsigned bands, who are looking to get some t-shirts made that they can sell at gigs or on their website, in order to bring in an additional stream of revenue (or in some cases their only source of income).Create a shirtThey usually send me a sample of their artwork, which is nearly always pretty complex, involving a lot of colours and detail.
and
I then end up having to explain that it's quite expensive to reproduce this kind of design, and when I tell them how much, they are completely put off the idea and they give up completely. So instead, what I've been doing lately isCreate a t-shirtoffering a range of alternatives which are much more affordable, so that these bands can afford to get some shirts printed and sell to their fans at a profit. This is basically a few ideas I came up with that apply to anybody (not just bands) who is looking to get as many t-shirts printed as possible with a small amount of money.
I bring this up because I don't think this is allowed. He does not even mention Lego. He joined today and his posts have nothing to do with the topic
