Topic: Flips

Hey guys,

I was thinking about getting a Flip Mino with my animation logo on it. I was wondering, if anyone has a mino or at least an ultra could write their opinion on it? Overall, I heard that they were good, but I just want to make sure.

Thanks!

Re: Flips

Flips are good. But, for animation, they suck. They're really wobbly, and I'm not sure if they have manual focus. Anyways, if this is for animation, don't get it. Live action is good on it though.

By the way, if it costs more to get your logo printed on it, I would spare the money, and just stick a home made  sticker on it mini/wink

Persist.

Re: Flips

Flips are so...amateur-ish. NOT something an experience moviemaker would want to be seen holding.

"actuallly this involves spiderman too, not batman. but im also taking a new approach, more comedy, less action. i dont see to many movies like that with more comedy than action" --SteveStarfyTV on an Indiana Jones meets Star Wars idea.

Re: Flips

But if your just making short skits than, it's pretty good.

Persist.

Re: Flips

I was just planning on filming things that a regular family video camera might take (vacations, games, etc.). I might also use it for vlogs and other stuff like that. My family needs a new camera anyway, the one we have now captures .MOD files instead of something simpler like .AVI. I can't even convert the video files when I put it on my comp. so...

Re: Flips

The flip doesnt have manual focus and it can only focus to the closest distance of about a meter which is no good for animation.

Re: Flips

Welcome to BiM!

Okay, being new, I don't blame you for what you don't know, but you did a few things wrong:

1. You bumped an old thread. That means that you posted on a topic where the last post was over a week old, and you had nothing relevant to add that hasn't already been added.
2. Please don't use more than one emoticon in a row. It's annoying.

Sorry if this all seems really harsh. It's what all new people go through when they first come here. Anyways, have fun here at BiM!

Re: Flips

No offense BGanimations, but this thread was only a few weeks old and since this particular forum isn't that fast when it comes to threads bumps are less of a bad  thing. On top of that comptechexpert added some very relevant and important information to the discussion; in terms of information it's probably the best post in the whole thread.

Re: Flips

Yeah I wish people would stop acting like they are like experienced members of the forum, or like moderators or something.

Re: Flips

Yeah not trying to rip into you or anything BG, just you need to check whether a post is relevant first before making judgement.

Re: Flips

No worries, I just thought that LMP had already solved his problem though.
