I'm sort of new here and I unfortunately missed THAC 7. Could someone tell me for sure if there is going to be a THAC 8 this year ar anytime soon? 
It'll be in the winter, very late this year or early next.
I'm sure it will be one and I think around the same time as last THAC.
I also have a question about THAC 8. What are MOD elements?
That's more of a general THAC question, but here goes. Mod elements, usually a combination of two colours touching and/or a letter or other basic shape, are elements of you need to include at least one in every animated frame of your film. This is to ensure that every frame of your film was in fact shot on THAC day and not before.

What everybody else said. Unless something comes up that makes it fall apart, I am planning to hold THAC 8 in late December or early January. Hopefully Cheshire will be able to help out, though he hasn't been around as much lately.
I would really like to take part in a THAC, I also missed the 7th one.
December sounds good, because people can tie their films in with Christmas.
Oh man, don't rush it. I'm still recuperating from the last one. 
I hope that the prizes won't be spongebob next time.
Judging by the latest trends, it will be from Sunday 3rd to Monday 4th of January 2011. That doesn't mean it will be though, so don't mark your diaries.
I can't wait for the next THAC! It will be my first contest. 
Mine too! I've started Brickfilming now so hopefully I'll have improved enough by then to be good.
D: THAC is going to be in the winter!? I probably can't enter then, my parents would never let me pull a 24 hour animation spree during school, even if I did get myself out of school in the first place. Even if it was scheduled during Christmas break, that would be set aside for family traditions and such.

This timeframe usually works very well, we got more than 70 (I think) entries in THAC VII with that. It accommodates the most people possible.

That's what they did for THAC 6, and that set a record for number of THAC entries. I don't know if THAC 7 broke that record.

Surprisingly enough I asked my Mum about it and she said yes! I usually stay up until the early hours of the morning anyway, but this will be a heck of a lot more fun.
