Topic: Voice Library

There are a lot of casting calls out there, and a lot of people submit their voices. It can be pretty hard to find the perfect voice actor, so I thought that this simple tool could be helpful.

How It Works

Basically, you send me a short audio recording of you talking. It shouldn't exceed 30 seconds, and should sound something along the lines of

Hey, this is [your name]. I've voice-acted in films such as [films you've voice-acted in]. I'm interested in voicing [what type of characters you can/want to provide your voice for]. [What type of voices you can do (high pitched, low pitched, nasal, etc.)]. [How quickly you will be able to record and send your lines].

Then, whenever someone wants to voice a character in your brickfilm, you can come here and listen to them to see if their voice fits the character.

Submitting Your Voice

To submit your voice, either send me a PM with a link to your voice clip, or send an e-mail to [email protected] with the clip attached. You should also provide a way for people to contact you if they want you to voice in their film (this could be an e-mail, or you could just say that you want them to PM you) and the name you prefer to be credited by.

Bloody great idea. I'll send in a voice clip.

EDIT: Also, can you add maybe a few features? If so then maybe consider these:

1. Add a little thing saying how many times the person has voice acted?
2. You should appoint a panel of voice acting pros to select an exceedingly good voice actor every week, to be featured.
3. Also, maybe we could have a thing beside the voice actor saying usually how long it'll take for the lines to be delivered.

These are pretty good ideas; I'll add them to the list.

YES, this is a GREAT idea! The casting call system isn't that good. It's like trying to get groceries by standing on the side of the road, holding up a sign with what you want on it, hoping that the passing cars will give you what you want. Some people might drive by and ignore you, especially if they don't know you. Some might stop, but some of them have other brands other than the one that you want. Very rarely, you would find exactly what you want. This new sytem is like shopping at a store, you know what you want and you go find it. You don't wait for someone to hand it to you. An idea for this: What if one person is talanted enough so that they can change their voice? If so, then they should add that on. An example: a person would say "I can do a deep voice" in their deep voice.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

I think that this is a great idea!  I also agree with Minifig051 that if you can do a a variety of voices, a sample of your different accents and/or characters would be helpful.  I'll try to add my voice(s) soon. mini/smile

DarthVincentPrice gave me another idea: you now also have to provide a name for people to credit you by. You can have multiple, if you want, or you can have the person casting you PM you about it (marked as "Not Specified" in the first post).

No, no, no. By "credit" I mean crediting the voice actor at the end of the film. For example, if you voice acted in one of my films, Golden, I wouldn't know what name to credit you by in the end credits. I could look in this thread, and find out your credit name (lets say you chose Jake S.).

Golden - PM or E-mail
Credit as Jake S.

Hence, I would credit you by that name.

Character 1 --- Jake S.
