Re: Community Project - "Boom De Ah Dah"
Sorry I couldn't make it Haz. School got really busy.
So yeah, I'm back from my mind.
We are a friendly filmmaking community devoted to the art of stop-motion animation using LEGO® and similar construction toys. Here, you can share your work, join our community of other brickfilmers, and participate in periodic animation contests!
A place to discuss, share, and create stop motion films.

*cough cough* It's been quite a while now Hazzat!
Editing takes a long time.

Alright folks, as if making the biggest community project so far, the first one in four years and possibly the most anticipated one too (just look at the comments on the WeTheBrickfilmers channel) weren't significant enough already, I've found an extra reason for you to hurry up with your clips.
Shortly after I got back from Santa Barbara, I was contacted by The LEGO Company's brand image PR team. Their job is to manage the appearance of the LEGO brand in the media, and how the idea of 'LEGO' is seen in the public eye. While I didn't do any work for them, I got their contact details and decided to let them know about this project, because it's LEGO-related and would look good on them as a way for demonstrating the versatility of LEGO.
They responded to my email saying that they would be certainly be interested in promoting this in "online media outlets, national newspaper websites etc," making it officially endorsed by TLC! So if the pressure wasn't on enough already, now it is.
The only catch is that the release date will have to be postponed into the new year (unless you all get your clips in by November 20th... like that's going to happen) because PR companies are always very busy with their own big plans in December due to Christmas promotions. A small price to pay, I think. Don't use that as a reason to slack off though. I still want all the clips by November 20th, but it does mean that if you're not satisfied you'll have some time after the deadline to redo your clip.
I added emphasis seeing as you obviously missed it the first time you read the post

It's the new year. I was wondering if we have an estimated date when this will come out.
I need a few more things from StanTheLegoMan (as if I haven't asked enough of him already), then I need to re-edit the videos together and it'll be done! The day is drawing near.
I've finished mine,it's a boom-de-yada thing about LEGO universe.
Please wait for me too.

It's February already... Is it almost done?
I just had an idea.
While you're waiting for Stan, why don't you make a trailer and ask Nathan Wells if he can put it on the WeTheBrickfilmers channel?
Making a trailer of something that is about 40 seconds long doesn't really makes much sense.
Hazzet, I've procrastinated long enough. I'm sending you a boom de ah dah by the end of today even if it kills me.
Stan informed me today that he just doesn't have the time to fit in making the music for this project, which is sad but I absolutely appreciate everything he's done for us.
However, this does mean we'll need a new musician to record the backing track. I'll leave this here for anyone to respond to (whether you can do it yourself or if you know someone who can) before I go searching a bit harder.

Maybe Smeagol can compose something?
Eep.
What does this job constitute? I'm not sure if I understand. Is it a completely original backing track, or is it just like this? and synchonizing the clips everypony sent in?
Or maybe have somepony improvise something like this. I'm not saying I am nescessarily volunteering for this, I just wanna know how this is going to be done.
