I half agree. The animation's animated excellently but the actual falling doesn't have much 'impact', if you know what I mean.

Yeah, but it as film, it was good. Again, it's an animation challenge, thanks for pointing that out Kees.
If there aren't any other entries on the way, I'm gonna start judging...

Re: The Animation Challenge

Start judging mini/smile Looking forward to the results as well as a new theme.

Re: The Animation Challenge

It seemed hard to judge this one. Some entries had a good fall and impact, but didn't give the illusion that the object was moving fast enough. Then other it was quite the opposite, they had good speed,  but the impact and fall didn't sell it.

1st Place:] animationIsaac  Your entry took a few views to understand it all, I wished you had either some blur or another frame of the brick in there. You won, none the less, make sure to pick a good theme.

2nd place:] MPfist0  Your entry was a bit fast on the eyes, but after sometime of watching I got it. The impact was decent, I liked the cartoonyness of it. The "blur stream" was quite fast and wished it had somemore screen time, but the smack on the head was well delivered. Next time do add more frames of the stud, so you can track it's path easily.

3rd place:] Repelling Spider Your entry was enjoyable. Fun storyline and great play of speech. The fall had good speed but he just fell on the guy and barely moved and didn't make an sound, which would've added greatly.

Others:

Keesret: Your entry was good, except I wasn't able to see the speed of the piano. It kinda appeared magicly.. mini/confused

Mout Studios: You're entry was intruiging, for some reason I could see much into the apple breaking.

Troodon: You entry was funny. Sorry to say this, but you need to use a higher frame rate... mini/sad

PMFXStudios: (Don't think you're on BiM yet) Your entry seemed classic (if that's the word I'm thinking of). I would've liked it to have more of an arch to it.

Thank you all for your entries! Please don't get bummed out by anything I said. I am just one person and that is only my opinion. Here is the playlist to see all the entries. Give us a good theme Isaac. mini/wink

Re: The Animation Challenge

Congrats!
Are you in need of suggestions?

Shooting a bow or crossbow was my favorite from last time, because I think it would be hard to animate.

Thanks 1011Ev! mini/bigsmile
Suggestions are very welcome, This was an idea in the past which I liked,

A challenge I thought of was making a muzzle flash just by using normal Lego pieces no visual effects or anything.

I also really like the sound of shooting a bow or crossbow. mini/yes
Any other ideas which you've got out there?

Re: The Animation Challenge

How about flipping a coin? Transforming? Magic tricks?

Re: The Animation Challenge

Flipping a coin seems like a good one, pretty sure transforming and magic have already been done though.
Or careening around a corner, shooting a bow/crossbow, a cartoony kick, etc.

Re: The Animation Challenge

It was Monster Transformation. So yes, it has been done before, as well as magic.
I vote for flipping a coin, careening around a corner, and shooting a bow/crossbow.
Cartoony effect has been done as Cartoon Physics.

What about Cartoon Physics Part 2 That would Work?

Re: The Animation Challenge

Re: The Animation Challenge

Please tell me if you don't like this challenge and I'll change it.

Re: The Animation Challenge

This is a very nice theme, Isaac. It's very unique and quite frankly, I haven't seen it in a brickfilm before. I wish I/we could enter, but we have a number of other projects we're working on and our social life is starting to take command.

Re: The Animation Challenge

I may enter.
This would be a good excuse to test out my 600d for animation.

Well I may be biased because I thought of it... But I think it's a great one and I plan on whipping up something mini/smile

Re: The Animation Challenge

Re: The Animation Challenge

Nah I don't have Fathers Day until September at Australia, I might as well enter for Isaac mini/tongue

Re: The Animation Challenge

I'd love to enter, but I just got back from vacation and still have my OYO video to work on. But I'll see if I can squeeze in some time to make an entry! By the way, great theme Isaac!
