Topic: How to change the FPS on windows live movie maker.

I am making a film and I don't know what to have the duration on for 15 fps. I am using windows live movie maker. I don't know if it's .05 or what. If you have an answer please post. Thanks.

15 frames per second = 1 second / 15 frames = .066 seconds per frame, approximately. Whether WMM can do that or not, I have no idea.

Hmm thanks Squash, I'll have to try that! mini/wink

Did that work? I literally just came on to find this question out.

I used to use it a little bit. You can do .07 seconds per frame, making 14.3 fps. Or you can do .06 seconds per frame, making 16.67 fps. But, sadly, no hundredths place numbers.

If you get really ambitious, you can right click on the photo and add a speed up times 2 effect, and I found that will make the image display for .03 seconds, making that slightly more than 30 FPS, which is what I did before I realized that faster is not necessarily better mini/smile

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this yet and I fear I'm stating the obvious but whatever. You probably shouldn't use this software for stop motion. It's not made for that so it's hard to manipulate all the frames because they are treated like individual clips. I've tried this before and it's a real pain. Just don't do it.. Download some free frame capture software and then use WMM to edit the film.
Although if it works for you then kudos you are way better at computers than I mini/cat

You would also be better off using the Vista version of the software - Movie Maker 6 rather then Live Maker Maker. Despite similar names Live has significant inferior features.

You can download an installer for Movie Maker 6 if your not on Vista here.

You have a great point, as soon as I switched to an actual stopmotion program I got a lot better. I would use it solely for austere effects.
