Re: How to write a professionally-formatted screenplay

What Mighty Wanderer said about V.O. is incorrect.
O.S. you write when, yes, your character is off-screen, but he is in the scene; the camera just doesn't see him. You write V.O. if there's like a narrator or something like that. The person talking is not in the actual scene, we just hear the voice over what is playing off at that time.
If your character is in the actual scene, and what he says is not a voice over, then you write just his name and nothing else.

Oh. Sorry, my mistake.

This Is very helpful. Thank-you.
When you use this 'code' it makes writing faster, easier and more efficient.
This should definitely be added to the resources page.

BTW I've had a look at "plotbot" and "CeltX" and they both look good.

I don't really think so, so I don't. It's up to you, though.

You should write v.o. or o.s., just so readers know what is supposed to be seen on screen and what isn't.

Great mini/smile

One thing though, is I thought I'd also include a shotlist in my script, but I guess I was wrong. I'm really struggling how to do a good shotlist I can easily follow. Any tips?

What would I put in a Parenthetical?

Re: How to write a professionally-formatted screenplay

Sorry for the bump, but I wanted to make known that there are great websites out there where you can (legally) read properly formatted scripts for actual Hollywood films. SimplyScripts.com is one great website of many.
