Looks like we've got a lot of time to animate! And the deadline is seven days after my birthday, too! That'll be fun! 
I won't be able to finish my Contrast film in time so I'm super psyched for this contest.
Quick Update:
Due to the fact that a lot of people will be going back to school soon (thus giving less time to be able to script, film, etc) the theme shall be announced tomorrow at 12pm GMT. Unfortunately I won't be available after 2pm because I shall be attending a gig in dublin. Therefore all questions shall be answered either tomorrow night or the following day, so I apologize for any inconvenience, and I hope that the new announcement date shall overall make the time period much more manageable for those entering.
Also just to let you know I'm close on getting a sponsorship and shall hopefully have that also announced in the coming week!
Wait, people are just now going back to school?!?!? i've been in school for about a month and that was the reason why i couldn't finish BRAWL in time it would be better if you announced it on a Saturday or Friday so people would have the whole weekend.
School starts in 2 weeks for a lot of people where I live.
There's still a lot of time. It kind of make up for people spending a lot of time at school.
I plan on using all the time I get get while school's still out once the contest theme is announced. Once school's back in, I'm probably end up just using weekends.
What does the editing category mean? I'm asking because I try my best to not have to do any effects in post production. So if you don't do much editing You would just loose points for bad editing?
I think that would apply to things done in the editing process, such as music being cut awkwardly or other mistakes made during editing.
Apologies to all for missing out on announcing the theme, due to personal matters I couldn't be near my computer even to delay it. All given into account the theme will be announced at 4:00pm GMT, the 21st of August.

OK to clarify some things. BiM is down right now for Hal for whatever reason.
However skype is working for him for whatever reason so he entrusted me to tell you the themes.
There are actually two themes, so you can pick between the two. The themes are

I can't enter due to college starting in two days, so if you already have the thing typed up, I'd be more than glad to post it for you.

Hi guys, sorry for the short delay once again, my internet wasn't loading BiM as a website for the last hour or so. It seems like there's something constantly stopping me from trying to post this. The main post has been updated however and the contest has officially begun!

Hm, interesting themes. Hopefully I'll be able to come up with an idea soon. By the way, when is the deadline? I can't find it on the first page.
So, I thought up a funny idea, and I started scripting, and then I turned it into a musical, and now it's getting really ambitious, so I really am not sure if this is possible.
What have I even done.
Sounds pretty awesome. I still haven't come up with anything substantial yet.
