Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Oh yeah, that frame might be out of focus then. The focus is set for his upright position, but due to the nature of the shot (composite of five tree placements), I couldn't adjust with his movement. I'll be sure to work on the eyes as they are still in progress, I got excited and wanted to preemptively post the frame.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

If it's just one point when he's talking it should be okay, he seems to be leaning forward in this specific frame, and hopefully that's just for a short moment.  The subject can go out of focus for part of the shot so long as it stays generally in it most of the time.

I have a shot in Leprechauns in France where Garry walks to a bench and sits upon it but he goes out as he walks forward but comes back in when he sits down to be in focus as he was at the beginning of the shot.

A quick peak at the continued production of Abandoned.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

NXTManiac - Like everyone's already said, the frame looks awesome, but slightly out of focus. And it sounds like you're still working on the eyes, which should help.

Clonecam - I like the lighting. As for the lens flare, it looks too fake. Also, what's the film about?

And even though it's not technically an "upcoming" film and there haven't been 2 posts, here's a frame from me. I was doing a test for mouth animation. I know it's not perfect, but it turned out decently.

@Clonecam
nice. not sure whats going on, the flare does look a TINY bit odd, but otherwise, nice!

@legoguy501, you where meant to wait till Clonecams frame had 1 one bit of feed back then you could give another and add your frame.

but, nice effort on the face and all, it can be hard to get right I know....

have a look here for some mouth animation: one of my videos

I got the face from a combination of Aquamorphs work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XER5jtg0o2A

and Sean's face paste: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Uql4A0wY1U what I did, was stole one or two of the exports he put here: http://www.bricksinmotion.com/forums/to … aste-demo/

used the position of the eyes and mouth as a base and did my own mini-figures faces in Illustrator.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Clonecam, are those Vashta Nerada?

One from some film I'm working on at the moment with action in it:

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Cooked - I actually already finished and put up the film, seen here. I basically took reference photos, designed the faces, and used Aquamorph's tutorial to help with the rest.

Isaac - Love the lighting. It almost looks like the guy's running from an explosion or else is scared of the light. Also, is that taken with your c920? If so, the quality looks real nice.

@Legoguy501
Yes, it was taken with the c920; however I have used a Nikon D90 DSLR for some of my recent projects.
Also he is running mini/bigsmile

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Strictly speaking, these are not actual frames, more test images.  But the actual film will look something like this
(Mostly experimenting with xmas tree lights here).

Gonna be shooting this in 4k (with CGI being either 2.5k or 4k depending on how long it takes to render).

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Uploading it appears to have decreased its quality somewhat, but hey-ho, you get the generally idea. This is without any colour grading.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

It's hosted on Facebook, if that makes a difference.

It looks nice, and I love that it's Bionicle.
But the background looks a bit plain/cartoon-y. Detailed, yes. But it still has that hand-drawn cartoon look that doesn't integrate well (IMHO) with Lego. But seeing it in the video and from different angles will probably make it look better.

It's meant to be. It's a frame from MNOG (Mata Nui Online Game, which is like the Bible to Bionicle fans) and when fully-graded it actually looks really cool.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Very nice frame jampot! Makes me want to find my old Bionicles from 2001/2002, and animate them!

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

You should do! I always find Bionicles really fun to animate (though they can be annoying at times, like when attempting walk cycles).
