Topic: Avatar Issue
Whenever I try to update my avatar It tells me "You did not select a file for upload." and the file name is no longer showed next to "browse".
I have tried both .jpg and .png and still nothing works.

I dunno, it doesn't want to work for me either.
I can't update mine, and even mod powers couldn't get yours to work.
I'm glad to know it's not just me.
It's happening to me too.
My avatar updated.
Yay!!!
I have the exact same issue when I clearly made my image following the suggested guidelines for my Avatar I selected it like so:
And it came back with this Error, I assume its to do with space on the server either that or the system is not saving the image properly and its causing it to throw an error. I work with a dedicated server myself running gaming servers and a website and I've had issues with set areas on it running out of space and throwing strange errors.
Turns out all avatar and directory issues are due to low server space, I have temporally freed some space so these functions should work again, we are still trying to switch servers so hopefully the image issue will no longer be a problem.

It still is.
I'm also having this problem.
Can I suggest that we set up a way where users can insert images hosted by image hosting sites? That way we wouldn't need so much server space.

That sounds like a good solution.
I think this might not already occur because page load times would probably greatly increase if a dozen or so different avater images all hosted on different websites had to load on every page.
Other forums do it, so why can't BiM? Or we could just do the avatars, or just the film thumbnails, or both.
Image sigs already have to load on every page and that doesn't make it slow. Avatars would be even smaller than those.
That's a good idea, but I'd be willing to have any sort of method inplanted that made it so we can post films/update our avatars. This has gone on for too long, and it's really gotten annoying.
I suspect the old host is not in a hurry to see you leave since you're a paying customer. I had the same problem once, the new host had to wait for notification from the old host and the old host didn't see that transfer as a priority - not surprisingly.
