Topic: File Type for Film Thumbnail

What file type should I use for thumbnails when uploading a film? I keep getting this error:

Warning: getimagesize() [function.getimagesize]: Filename cannot be empty in /home/bim/public_html/inc/functions.php on line 431
Error: invaled file type

I tried jpg and png, but neither worked.

Re: File Type for Film Thumbnail

I get this problem a lot too. BMP usually works.

The guy who got banned more times than DiCaprio said "f***" in The Wolf Of Wall Street.

Re: File Type for Film Thumbnail

That's odd. I haven't even saved anything as a .bmp for about six years. It might be to do with the title of the file itself, e.g. if you called it david_the_barbarian.jpg, the film directory upload might not like that you used _ in the filename.

I tried BMP, but I still get the same error.

I literally just named the file Thumbnail, thinking there was a problem with the name. But nothing changed.

Re: File Type for Film Thumbnail

I'm not sure what is going on with the image uploader but I am encountering the same issue, I haven't done any programming on the site in around 4 years or something but I might need to look into this and debug it as it is one of the systems I built.

I could also add something that uses the Youtube preview image if people are having issues with uploading there own image.

@BlazingPhoenixPictures:

Can you try to resubmit your film? I just made some changes and would like to know if it is working for you.

That seemed to work. Thanks for helping!

Re: File Type for Film Thumbnail

Your welcome, thanks for asking what was wrong, I wouldn't have got around to fixing it if no one had posted about the issues.

Re: File Type for Film Thumbnail

I'm also having this problem. This is the message I get:

Warning: getimagesize() [function.getimagesize]: Filename cannot be empty in /home/bim/public_html/inc/functions.php on line 431
Error: invaled file type

I'm uploading with a Jpeg file type. When I tried to upload with bmp, nothing happened.

Re: File Type for Film Thumbnail

I've also been having this problem too for the last few days.

Re: File Type for Film Thumbnail

Any update on the fixing? I'm really wanting to add my last few films to my filmography.

I've the same problem, please help

Re: File Type for Film Thumbnail

Unfortunately directory submissions aren't working right now, hence the notice at the top of the forum pages. We'll let you know when the problem is fixed, but it is essentially something we cannot fix until our web host works with us and they haven't been very helpful so far. I think we're making progress, though.
