Re: The Squire and the Scroll
*Emergency Update*
For those of you who live in California, you probably heard about the earthquake that hit the San Francisco Bay Area this last Sunday. It was a 6.1 on the Richter scale, and we got hit by the full force of it. Not only were our current sets smashed (though luckily the castle and village are safe in storage), but our studio was completely trashed as well as our house. Here are some pictures of what our studio looked like the next morning (note that these were taken after we had already done a bit of preliminary clean up!):
To make matters worse, our composer lives quite close to us, so he was hit hard too. As he is both a father and has to work full time, he now has very little time to finish up the music for "The Squire and the Scroll," as he is currently using his spare time to fix the damages his own house sustained.
So, unfortunately, "The Squire and the Scroll" will not be coming out in August as we originally planned. However, we do hope to get the first part up by mid September, though it will entirely depend on how long it takes our composer to get the music finished (as we are almost finished on our end). We feel very blessed that our computer did not get damaged during the quake, and also that no one in our family was injured. We will continue to keep you guys posted, and hopefully our next post will have better news than this one.
We are making steady progress towards completing the first part and getting it online. Things like mouth animation and CG set expansions are taking slightly longer than anticipated, but we are learning a lot and the process is slowly becoming more streamlined. We weren't going to tease any more images before releasing the first part, but since we have already kept you waiting for longer than we originally said, here is a quick behind the scenes look at a scene in the upcoming first part:
