Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

On the bottom portion of the poster, the stretching of the minifigures isn't working. Minifigures have specific proportions, and when you stretch them to fit the frame, it makes them look strange. Try scaling them on both the Y and X axises so they stay in proportion.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

The framing of the poster/the layout is very good. My only main suggestion that hasn't been made before is that "nowhere" is one word, and the edges around the characters are quite rough.

Is it really playing at a theatre. Haha I'm too dumb to get this joke (if it is one to begin with).

haha, ok

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

It is really playing at The Grand Illusion Cinema, in Seattle on 12.07.14, anyone that can make it is welcome to come, it is a small theater that seats 70 people and is really cheap to rent. It is playing at 3:30, as that allows them to still have time to play whatever they have programmed for the evening.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

oh, wow. whats the runtime?

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

6 min, 30 seconds, I'll be playing it in a program with a lot of my older shorts and have a Q&A, most people who know me in real life know a lot less about my animation and animation in general. After four years of working on this I am so ready to throw an all out party for it's completion, and it really is something that will look good seen on the big screen.

Edit:

Thanks! Was going for bad 80s Sci-fi look, I need to tweak the image to make flyers and for a Facebook event page, maybe I'll get a background image version too.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

Although I have not seen the film, it reminds me of the poster for The Thirteenth Floor.

Well, I have quite some animation to go, even if I am mostly prepared now so not in the next few months.

I'd guess perhaps June or October.  Not any of the months betwixt them, though, because if it starts getting close to October I'm just going to hold back on the release a little bit so I can release it in the spooky month.  Preferably I'd like an October first release, but if I fail I plan to try everything I can to get it out by Halloween at the latest.

Of course, that was my plan last year, but it failed (although primarily due to problems I did not foresee, nor was readily equipped to counter).  The only really big obstacle that might pop up is the reddening, which might end up taking a really long time (the process of colourizing the red scene frames individually).  Also, moving the set is really hard.

But I do have a lot more done right now, much more so than last year.  The title sequence is done, which was really hard, as well as the driving for the narration, which took about two months.  I also have finished the set, which has been the most difficult and largest MOC project I've ever done.  I doubt I will ever go bigger.
So it's coming along at least.

That looks pretty cool. I like the framing of the poster, and I really thought the trailer was oustanding. I have to say I'm really looking forward to the final film.

Here's a little something for my movie.
