Topic: Marvel Brickfilm Universe - now live!
After several months of development and discussions, we are pleased to officially announce the Marvel Brickfilm Universe! Similar to Disney’s cinematic universe, and BiM’s short-lived brickfilm universe the BFCU, the MBU is a shared continuity of LEGO Marvel media, primarily brickfilms but also text-and-image stories.
The epicenter for all things MBU is our official blog, where you can find a timeline of all media released thus far, updates on upcoming projects, character and group bios, a list of contributors, and in the near future much more. So far the MBU is a small operation - just Galactic Bricks, Atlas Animationz and I - but we will soon be looking to expand.
Ready to view
Avengers Tower: Captain America VS Black Panther (brickfilm)
Avengers Tower: Lady Sif VS War Machine (brickfilm)
Iron Winter (blog story) and The Casket (brickfilm short)
Upcoming
The Avengers: Defenders of Earth (brickfilm, coming 2015)
More than one 'secret project'
While we currently have a pretty solid idea of most of the MBU canon so far, we’re always looking for contributors. Even if your brickfilm idea doesn’t fit into the established canon, writers and animators for already-developing projects are also welcome, but we encourage your creative input! If you’re interested in contributing in any way, send me a message or reply to this thread and we’ll start discussing how we can work together. I am putting together a package of ‘essential material’, which I can send to you should you be interested. As a slight disclaimer, please don’t be offended if your ideas don’t fit with the canon: we’ve tried to set a basic timeline to make sure we’re all working from the same page, and we all need to adhere to it as much as possible (though for some things, like finer details of character backstories and such, allowances can likely be made).
Even if you don’t wish to contribute, we’d love to hear what you want to see from the MBU! Is your favourite hero or villain not getting enough love? Bored of the Avengers and want to delve into space with the Guardians of the Galaxy? Fancy raising your fists to hail Hydra? We want to know!
All that’s left for me to say is that on behalf of myself and the MBU’s other contributors, we hope you enjoy this little tribute to Marvel we’re putting together. It’s nothing grand or game-changing, and I know a lot of you aren’t keen on licensed brickfilms, but nonetheless this is a bit of fun and we hope you’ll like viewing MBU content as much as we’ve liked producing it!
