Re: The Animation Challenge

Re: The Animation Challenge

Wow, that was awesome. Really nice work!

Re: The Animation Challenge

I guess the next deadline is now next Monday? ill leave the theme the same.

Re: The Animation Challenge

It is time for me to step in and choose a new theme.

The theme is "Brick-built explosions, smoke, and/or fire." Think of the brick-built explosions as seen in The LEGO Movie. The deadline is May 12.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Did nobody win the current challenge?

Re: The Animation Challenge

The old Animation Challenge had a serious problem with long periods of time where nothing happened, because deadlines weren't enforced and the thread was just left to stagnate for weeks.

In order for this problem to stop, sometimes a mod needs to step in and keep it moving, even if that means a particular round didn't get enough entries for a winner to be determined.

You've already made your feelings on the animation challenge / the moderating staff clear several times, jampot, so the harassment needs to end now.

Re: The Animation Challenge

It was not my intention to harrass, it merely appeared at first as if Cooked Cat had been overlooked. Checking the dates that's clearly not the case so I'm sorry for the confusion, but conversely this was in no way harassment, I just thought someone's entry had been lost in the confusion. Just trying to help.

EDIT: I'd like to make it clear this wasn't a dig at any staff members either. Please stop assuming that's my intention, it is wearing thin.

Re: The Animation Challenge

I only entered as I was unsure what the deadlines are, but, everyone, good luck!

Re: The Animation Challenge

To reiterate:

The theme is "Brick-built explosions, smoke, and/or fire." Think of the brick-built explosions as seen in The LEGO Movie. The deadline is May 12.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Who's the judge? Nathan? Me? Cooked cat? I'm confused.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Look at me, look at me. I'm the captain now.

I'm judging because, as Smeagol stated, to keep the Animation Challenge going, sometimes a mod has to step in to keep the thread from stagnating.

Re: The Animation Challenge

The last challenge sounded interesting, I might put it in a test (I know that it's already over). Cooked cat did a pretty good job on that. I remember a Mister Mingle animation where a minifig fell into pieces, that was very good as well.
As for the current challenge, does the explosion and smoke have to be in one video?

Youtube

my dad doesn't want me to brickfilm on because it's his computer, but he's not home right now at the moment.

Re: The Animation Challenge

You don't have to do an explosion and smoke and fire, you can mix and match between the three and even just focus on one. My idea was to see effects done in LEGO that are not normally done in LEGO. So if you just want to animate an explosion, go for it!
