Hello and welcome, one and all! Zach "MindGame" Macias and I are proud to present the nominees for the 2015 Bricks in Motion Awards! This is an annual awards event that recognizes and celebrates excellence in brickfilming in a wide variety of categories and disciplines. Think like the Oscars for brickfilms.

Our panel of judges have sorted through a year’s worth of films and voted on them in 11 individual categories until a final list of 5 nominees was agreed upon for each category. Very soon, we will be sending out the final ballots, and once those votes are tallied and winners chosen, they will be announced via a live awards show in the Bricks in Motion IRC Chat (more details on that later).

The films you see in the categories below are listed in alphabetical order, and without any bias or favoring whatsoever. Judges and organizers agreed to disqualify any films they have made in the last calendar year from awards contention, so as to make judging as fair as possible. Films eligible for awards consideration need not have been made public on the Bricks in Motion Releases forum (a rule change from years past), but must have been released online within the 2015 year.

Our nomination panelists for the 2015 year are:
MindGame
NathanWells
sillypenta
Squash
JonnDThunder
Dewfilms

And now with that out of the way, let’s get on to what you’ve all been waiting for! Here are your nominees for this year’s Bricks in Motion Awards!

Wow, awesome! Congratulations to all the nominees, and great work putting this all together! I really like the way you presented the entries this year.

I guess one of the few good things about being a bit inactive brickfilm wise is that a few of the nominees are new things to see for me. mini/smile

Congratulations nominees! All of these are quality works of animation! It's amazing what people create with LEGO.

Re: Welcome to the 2015 Bricks in Motion Awards!

I liked how the nominees appear in the graphic for each category.  Congratulations to all who were considered by the committee.

I'm honored and surprised to be nomimated for the Mariana screenplay.  but I was hoping that Holding Our Own episode 3 would be nominated for best ensemble cast, not for my sake, but because of the wonderful performances by Mary Charles (Brick 7), Cecilia Yus, Brandon Fields (Darth Vincent Price), and Eric Kutepow.  Their synergy is stellar.  I'm proud of you all.

I've seen Minecraft: Creepers and Protectors of the Earth, and if the other nominees are of similar audio quality, the award will go to a worthy candidate.

EDIT: Also, Nathan and the committee, you must have a daunting, tireless, yet fun task of reviewing the brickfilms of 2015.

Interesting choices. I'd argue for a categorized system based on genre that may diversify the selections. Nevertheless congratulations to the nominees.

31 different films is pretty diverse.

Re: Welcome to the 2015 Bricks in Motion Awards!

Congratulations to all the nominees. 2015 was home to many excellent brickfilms. I look forward to tuning in for the results.

Re: Welcome to the 2015 Bricks in Motion Awards!

I have to say, I'm completely taken by surprise at being nominated for Best Cinematography and Editing.  I really wasn't expecting it; I'm honoured that Retribution made it this far.

There are some great nominations here.  It it's clear the judges went through a lot of effort to compile this list.  I'm really glad to see a huge variety of films up for nominations--2015 was a great year for Brickfilming, and the nominee list does a fantastic job of showcasing this.  Can't wait to see the results (and no, I'm not saying this just because my film is nominated mini/tongue ).

Congratulations to the nominees, this is a great selection of brickfilms!

Re: Welcome to the 2015 Bricks in Motion Awards!

I'm appalled by the lack of diversity in this year's nomination.  All nominees are LEGO, not a single MegaBlok or Stikbot nomination.  The panel should be ashamed!  #BoycottBIMA will be trending within the hour!

Kidding.  It's nice that we don't have nor need that kind of Hollywood drama here.  Congrats to the nominees and let's hope Leo finally gets that Oscar--I mean, BIMA.

Pleasantly surprised to see Ella's Tale here.
Nice.

Thanks for putting this all together again this year.  It's really cool to have these every year.

Re: Welcome to the 2015 Bricks in Motion Awards!

There are many here I haven't seen and I'm taking the time to watch some of the nominated films I missed.

Re: Welcome to the 2015 Bricks in Motion Awards!

Wow! So grateful, through the good graces of the judges and Rioforce, to have been nominated for a BiM award. There were so many good original scores this year, congrats to all who received nominations (And also to those who didn't... some of those were fantastic as well!)

Re: Welcome to the 2015 Bricks in Motion Awards!

Thankyou ever so much for the cinematography nomination. I would have to admit I haven't been keeping much up to date with what's going on in the community lately although I thought Retribution had some of the better cinematography and lighting I have seen in more recent brickfilms.
