This has some solid information about microphones.
From experience, the Blue Yeti is a great mic. For a cheaper option, the Blue Snowball is also a well-respected mic. Both are usb mics, which makes for an easy setup and usage. And I'd recommend getting a pop filter to go with it, to help even out harsh/loud sounds.
