Re: The Animation Challenge

Ok the winner is, drum roll........ Weasel Animations! Your animation was smooth and crisp, I liked how you made the guy mutate slowly and also how you used a brick to for the other guy mutating at the end.

Smash I liked how you made the guy threw his shirt on the ground when he mutated the only thing I would do differently next time is to try to keep your character in focus and be more aware of your lighting, but other than that it was good.

Congratulations Weasel Animations you get to choose the next theme. mini/delirium

Re: The Animation Challenge

It is time to announce the winner, Of this close match. It is... Raptor Studios!

The jumping and slicing was very well done, and the throwing was flawless. My only suggestion would be to keep the plants from moving on the ground

Simple Brick Studios: The falling of the objects was well done! The use of tape made a difference. My suggestion would be to make the slicing a little more elaborate. You did very well too.

Thank you both for entering! Take it away Raptor!

Re: The Animation Challenge

Thank you Weasel animations!

The new animation challenge is: Brick-Built Laser Blasts This can mean a laser from a blaster, cannon, or anything that deploys a sci-fi laser blast. Here is an example from The Lego Movie:
http://i.imgur.com/RXdwX7B.jpg

As shown, the laser is built out of Star Wars light saber blade pieces, but you can use whatever you want to for this challenge. Remember, I am  judging solely on movement, so don't be shy to enter even if your lighting isn't great. The deadline to submit is the 19th of April and I will judge as soon as possible. Have fun and good luck!

Nice job!
Come on guys, lets get some more entries this time! mini/smile

Re: The Animation Challenge

I'll try to make an entry. Wish I could use pre existing footage as I did a nice laser blast in my second test video. Oh well, I'll just have to make another one mini/smile

I know you said that because not many people post here raptor. But it is only two days after the challenge was announced

Re: The Animation Challenge

Looks like it is time to judge! And the winner is.......1999mrlegoman
Your entry was very smooth, and I like the variety of pieces used. Excellent work!

Edward Penguin: Really nice blasts! the flashes and movement here was really entertaining to watch.

Weasel Animations: Of course this one was smooth because it was animated at a whopping 25fps! Great job! The movements flowed excellently.

Smash: The close range fight scene in this was nice. The flashes from the weapons was also good. Nice job!

Congrats mrlegoman! I am looking forward to seeing the next challenge.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Thanks Raptor!  That was a fun theme to animate.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do next?
I was thinking of slow-motion, but if someone else has an idea they like, I am open to suggestions.
Either way, I will announce the new theme on Saturday (the twenty-second).

Re: The Animation Challenge

3 FPS challange? What would it look like if pros filmed with that? I think it would be quite fun and in a way challanging. mini/smile

Re: The Animation Challenge

If it is 3fps, I cannot enter, as my software can only go down to five.
