Re: The CGI Thread

I spent a few hours learning how to do CGI compositing in Blender and presto!  The photo was taken with a smartphone.

Re: The CGI Thread

Hey, I am working on a shor star wars film and this is one of the CG shots. It was rendered in Blender and edited in After Effects:

Re: The CGI Thread

That looks really good, to me at least. I'm not really a master of VFX myself, but I know a bit about how stuff works. That looks really nice though. I wish I had after effects.

Re: The CGI Thread

Nice! I thought it was a composite of multiple photos at first. Good job.

Re: The CGI Thread

looks amazing. just judging it as a still frame, I know it will look better in motion, but, perhaps a little light from the bullets should light up the falcon a little
Just my 2 cents worth.

Re: The CGI Thread

I tried my hand on Blender. Any advise on how to make it better? I'm not very good at this yet. mini/smile

Re: The CGI Thread

@raytistic: I like the material you are using for the bricks. This includes the amount of reflection. But there is currently no environment to bei reflected at your model. You may add a cylindric panorama, which does Not need to be visible by camera, but by reflective materials.

In case anyone's interested, here is a super helpful plugin for Blender with dozens of realistic LEGO materials (including transparent materials): https://www.blendermarket.com/products/ … -materials

Here's an example of what I made with these materials (https://youtu.be/qOy0NNPokzU – meant to be played as a background on your TV):
