(Psst... This is actually the opening scene of a longer brickfilm. Can you spot the easter egg and figure out what kind of a crossover it will be?)

Re: LEGO Halloween Kills

As I've said elsewhere, after fond memories of "The Yellow Brick Horse," I was certainly not expecting this level of seriousness. That being said, it's a testament to your skills that you can pull this off to the same high mark of quality.

It's incredibly well made on a technical level. No doubt about that. The cinematography, scoring, animation, set, and so on are all top-notch. I loved the dolly zoom at 0:32; in fact, all the camera movements were wonderful. The movement at 0:26 does look rough initially, but after realizing that it's a POV kind of shot, it fits in well. The only slip in quality is the knife at 0:40, but that's easily forgivable.

As well as this film works on it's own, I think it'll be far better as the opening to a larger film. In fact, watching it in that light, it makes for a perfect pretitles sequence.

As I hinted before, up until the actual knife shot, I figured a swift twist would turn things into a funny, lighthearted film where this was all a mistake, or joke or something. Because of that preconception, the film was jarring the first time through. (Perhaps the release date, nearly a month after Halloween didn't help.) However, after watching it again, a little more aware this time, I do appreciate what you've done here.

While I somewhat recognized Mr. Myers from different ads (I've never seen the films) I guess I didn't realize you meant that to actually be him in a larger film. If this is anything to go by, you'll do a great job on the final film. With your still working on Time Cruisers: Origins, will this project come after that, or are you trying to get this one done quickly?

Thank you so much for your feedback, it really means a lot! Time Cruisers: Origins has priority now, I want to finish it before the year's end, and this Halloween crossover project will only be finished after that. I wanted to put this opening scene together and release it quickly though, just to enter something to the Scary Contest over on Brick a Brack. And it felt much more productive to film a part of something that I'm already planning to make, rather than making something entirely new.

Re: LEGO Halloween Kills

Well I've racked my brain trying to catch the Easter egg but cannot catch it. Will have to view it again and again until I can figure it out. As a huge fan of the Halloween series this really appeals to me on so many levels and would to any other Halloween fan. You nailed all the mannerisms of the house and Michael. Can't wait to see the finished film. Great work. Subbed your channel.

Nice film - I think I've spotted the Easter egg but not sure if I'm allowed to suggest what crossover I think it will be mini/smile

Very nice camera angles, I enjoyed! mini/smile

Began animating in 2013. Stopped in 2016. Just got back in the game, oh how it has changed.

Sorry for replying to your comment only now, but for some reason I didn't get the notification. Thank you so much for your kind words and I can't stress how honored I am that a Halloween fan appreciated what I was trying to do here. Thank you, for watching my video and subscribing! I hope you'll like what I'm planning for the finished film.
