Lego Star Wars III: The Build Off

Youtube

This is an advertisement that I've been working on for the past couple months for LucasArts.

I was on a pretty tight schedule to get this done so some of it is a little rushed, but overall I'm happy with how it came out.  I only did the animation, can't take credit for the sound and effects work.

Re: Lego Star Wars III: The Build Off

Nice! But why is the quality very low?

Woah, nice job. That's like a proper old school Lego ad.

Good, because whoever did it went with cheap off-the-shelf stock footage.

Pretty awesome ad.  Makes me want to get the game.

Re: Lego Star Wars III: The Build Off

I loved it! mini/bigsmile I did not notice the quality being low at all. But I did notice that the special effects were not as good as usual. It really didn't matter though.

Awesome animation and framing of the whole thing, gave it a very video game feel that all the LSW Games have given over the years, especially the building portions as that is a trademark to the LSW Games. Though there was good animation, the sound design was lacking, and I feel more non stock sound recordings would have added an extra punch to this. However you are not at fault as previously mentioned so yeah.

Good stuff.

Wow. Great as usual, as others have said, the sound could've been better, but that's not your fault. Also, the way Griveous was animated was amazing.

Nice moving shots. It wasn't your best work, but it was definitely enjoyable. This makes me think, however, that Yoda is a !@#$%^&*! (wow, dbag is a swear word, now?), because he started calling for help and Grievous kept on force-building... =b

Re: Lego Star Wars III: The Build Off

Seems like everyone has summed it up for you. I loved the lighting, it gave the planet a real warm vibe. My only problem with it is General Greivous can't use the force.

Re: Lego Star Wars III: The Build Off

So did LucasArts hire you to do this?

Re: Lego Star Wars III: The Build Off

The lighting and the color grading stood out to me, they look really good! Great work!

THAT WAS AMAZING!!!

So nice to see you animate something for the first time in a while.  Absolutely loved it!

Re: Lego Star Wars III: The Build Off

Congratulations on being contracted by LucasArts!

Re: Lego Star Wars III: The Build Off

You deserve it.  A great animator like you should work for Lucas Arts.  But on the downside I would have to say this isn't your best work.  Still it is a great film!

I can tell that you put tons of effort into it. It's a Brickfilm worthy of being official

Re: Lego Star Wars III: The Build Off

Very well done, Fancypants. Congrats on getting noticed and commissioned by LucasArts.

Re: Lego Star Wars III: The Build Off

Ninja, that's personal, and, to be frank, quite rude to ask.

Amazing stuff here, Fancypants. It's great how so many brickfilmers these days are getting noticed and sometimes even rewarded for there passion of making inanimate objects move and become living, breathing characters.
Congrats to you, good sir. You have a great future ahead, don't blow it.

Nice work FP, too bad the 10-year olds that rove YouTube happen to accuse you of stealing because they were too dense to read the video description first.
