Topic: Image Quality Help

I have Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 and have seen some beautifully filmed images with this type of webcam. What I wanted to ask is what the settings such as: exposure, gain, brightness, ect. should be put at for peek quality. I know lighting is very important but I am almost certain my problem is the settings. My other big problem is camera noise. Is there a way to eliminate this completetly or almost; still using a webcam.

Filmaking is an art not a science, there are no ideal settings.

My advice is to just play with it for each scene to find a look you like. Quality is overated, good cinematography is key.

I have heard that opening the exposure all the way, and lowering the gain as low as possible helps. Alot of it you just have to experiment with.

Here's my settings.  I get great quality with no light flicker with these.

Some other important things are resolution set to HD (at least 1280x720), frame averaging at 10, and at least 3 lamps without paper.

You do it without paper over the lamps? mini/confused  I thought it would be to bright without it most people say the opposite. Any way. By the way how do you do frame averaging and with what software? I don't think mine does it.

I think it would depend on how bright your lamps are.

I think it would depend on how bright your lamps are.

Mine have full-spectrum bulbs, 40 watt.

It's also how close you have the lamps, too.

my setings don't have wight balence! what gives?
also: how do you set it to HD? I havn't figgured that out yet mini/sweat
EDIT: I use Anasazi SMA for a capture program. that seems important

You might not have the latest version of the software.  You can get it at the Logitech website.

Setting something to HD means changing the resolution.  Usually, it's found in the capture settings (or something similarly named) of a capture software.

I haven't used Helium Frog in a while, but I believe if you click on the 'Settings' button, and look through the options it should be there.

I do not know if Monkey Jam has frame averaging, though I haven't seen the option when I've used it.

I updated the program and that worked, but I still have the Problem with HD
