What's The Phobia Series you ask? Well, it's quite literately a series about phobias. each episode gravitates around a       sole character with a certain phobia. It focuses on the day-to-day things someone with a severe phobia has to go through. There are plenty to choose from on this site, so if you find one that interests you, let me know and maybe it will be one of the episodes.

I'm really liking this idea! Sounds unique and something I've never seen before, plus bringing the struggles that some people have to go through in a lighthearted way! mini/smile I can see how a name could be hard...I guess you could be minimalist and call it "Phobia" or you could not have an overall series name and just call each episode by the name of the phobia mini/smile

Being a claustrophobic myself this idea really sounds great.
I think what would make it great is the main being a situation that they need to
fight there phobia to survive or get thru a tough spot.
Phobia sounds like a pretty solid for this series. Even Fear
would work. My opinion only though.

I actually think "The Phobia Series" is actually a pretty good name to start with.  Anyway, this sounds like it could be a hilarious series, so definitely go for it!  If this is to be a comedy series, I personally think it would be great to have it focus on characters with ridiculously specific phobias (like peladophobia, the fear of bald people), and write the story in which a twist of fate means their fear is actually becomes justified in a hilarious way (e.g. someone with Bolshephobia gets chased by an angry mob of Bolsheviks despite never having intentionally done anything to upset them--their anger is due to a misunderstanding).

Either way, you really need to make an episode about Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia.  The name alone is a comedic gold-mine.

Yeah I thought of that earlier. I may do that, but I'm most likely going to just call it "Phobia". Thanks for the input though!

So I've already started to flesh out some ideas for the first episode. I think I'm going to have a pretty common phobia to start out with (Claustrophobia, Acrophobia, Arachnophobia, etc. etc.), and if you have any phobias that you think I should do, go ahead and post away. I looked at that list, and wow! There are some weird, yet humourous ones in there (Urinaphobia? Judeophobia? mini/lol Omphalophobia?!). Anyways, I'm actually very excited for this series; I think something like "Freaky Fears" or "Phobia Freaks" would be appropriate for the title to the series.

(I wonder if there's a phobia for being afraid of phobias...)

Quick Update

Hey everyone, sorry for the wait. I was at a weekend long soccer tournament, and didn't really have time to post until now.

First thing I wanted to talk about, was that I added a poster on the first post. (After I create some characters, their minfigs will be added.) tell me what you think about it. mini/yes

Second, the first episode is going to be centered on Pogonophobia, which is the fear of beards. mini/tongue Obviously this will be a more comedic episode, so if you have any ideas/situations that I could include in this episode, please tell me.

And third, set building and script-writing has begun! Set pictures will be released soon..

Thanks for all the enthusiasm about this idea, it's really motivating me!

@Mickey Actually, there is a phobia for being afraid of phobias. It's called Phobophobia. mini/lol

Hmm... Pogonophobia?

*How about a guy goes to see "The Hobbit an Unexpected Journey", not knowing about the dwarves having so much facial hair?

*Or maybe he gets into a lot of debt and has to get a job as a civil war reenactor. Not knowing much about what the earlier presidents looked like, he takes the role of Abraham Lincoln.

*What if he goes to a wizard convention? (Or maybe just "Comic Con")

*How about he volunteers to help judge auditions for Christmas play, and the day he offers to help out, they hold auditions for the role of Santa?

*Maybe he takes goes to Germany for vacation?

* What if he gets a job at a morgue and the corpse he has to prepare for the funeral has a huge beard?

*Or maybe he just misplaces his shaving razor.....for a very, very long time. The beard slowly grows on his face, mentally tormenting him (Its could be really horrifying if you do a good job).

Holy crap, this is one of the best ideas for a Brickfilm series I have seen in ages. If you want some voice actor help, just call me up and I can do it for you!

Also, I think Alektorophobia would make a really great episode. Maybe you could even work a bit of a parody of "The Birds".

You should make it so that at the beginning of the film he has a dream or hallucination where someones beard attacks, or eats, him.

I know, it has been almost a month now. Sorry about that, I was working on finishing my Shark-Man sequel and wanted to get it uploaded. I think work on this project will come to a halt for a few weeks, as I want to enter the Christmas in a Minute Contest, As well as I will be out of town for a little over a week (21st - 29th) for Christmas.
I will most likely start pre-production back up again in January, or late December.

Update

So once again I'm back to working on this series. I've updated the first post with my progress thus far, and as you can see I'm a little more than half way done with the script for the first episode. From what I have so far, the estimated length is about a minute and a half. I will definitely need some voice-acting help, so I just might take Sonjira up on his offer. mini/smile

A few things I want to share real quick:
1. I'm going to use brickelodeon's idea for the start of the episode. I'll be sure to credit you. mini/smile
2. After the character wakes up from the dream and gets out of bed, he will flip a calender to reveal that it is November first, or "No-shave November." mini/bigsmile

Wow! Thanks for crediting me, although it really isn't necessary. I liked your bed and dresser designs, but I think the bed could be a bit more, how do I say this?, bed-ish. Heres what I came up with.
