Topic: Please Help the Star Wars Community

Today, Darryl Roberts, the founder of the Star Wars Geeks of the World Unite family of Facebook groups and pages passed; and the community would like him remembered anyway they can.

He was a great friend and a mentor; I personally knew him through Facebook, and was never given the privilege to meet him in real life. I was his personal assistant for the Geeks Unite family. Beyond the geeks untie family of groups and pages, many other Star Wars groups and pages were either made because of him, or inspired because of him. If you like any Star Wars fan page on Facebook, or are in any Star Wars groups, chances are they are there because of Darryl Roberts.

This is where you can help. A while ago, a petition was started asking for a cameo role for Darryl, so he can represent Star Wars geeks everywhere. He wont be able to get a cameo anymore, but if we can all get behind the petition, then maybe Lucasfilm will be able to put a tribute in some way shape or form into Star Wars, so that Darryl's name is forever etched in the history of Star Wars.

Sorry if this isn't appropriate for this forum, but I think it's needed here. I know of a lot of members who enjoy Star Wars. Hopefully the admins can let this pass.

The admins for the groups are tracking down the maker to get them to increase the goal, and maybe give it more chance to reach JJ's desk. Funnily enough the person who made it in the first place was not part of the admin team, and did it off their own back.

That all said, even if the petition isn't passed onto the right people at the end of the day, getting the 500 signatures is the most important thing now mini/smile
