Ooh! DragonFrame sounds yummy.
I'd be willing to join but I have not yet mastered cinematography, lighting, post production, and lots of other stuff...
Is there a special theme, and are licensed characters allowed?

Dude, I don't think anyone has on here. I say, if you feel inspired by the theme and get an at least okay story going, you should give it a go! You never know what could happen! Even if you don't place high, the experience you'll learn from making your entry will only make you a better filmmaker.

And besides, you have time to practice and read up on it. The contest doesn't start until June anyway.
Hey, I got last when I attempted, back in ToY. I still had fun though, I think...
I didn't really know what I was doing when I made 'Crown of Syracuse' for the IDEA contest, but I had a new camera and I put a lot of effort into trying new techniques and improving my production values compared to my previous films. Sometimes you just have to jump in and give it your all.
And yeah, you've got over three weeks before the theme is announced to begin polishing your skills!
Can't believe I've totally overlooked this thread. Can't wait for another BiM contest!
Brickstuff has joined the contest as a sponsor which means we have all our prizes lined up, now!
If you want to be updated as soon as possible on the contest itself as well as a free prize giveaway we'll be holding upon the contest's launch, I advise following BricksInMotion on Twitter. It'll be sometime on June 1st.
Sadly, I will only be home for 12 of the days that this contest is going on... Oh well
Wow, that's a long time to be away. Have you considered bringing just enough with you to make a film while you are away? Unless you are moving around regularly, it could be feasible. I was away during the week of the last BRAWL but I brought the essential equipment and just enough LEGO to get by and made this film. It can be done. Alternatively, it is possible to make a good film in 12 days if you make the most of your time. It would be a shame to have to sit out the first big BiM summer contest in a good while.
The contest launches Monday.
We've got all of our judges and prizes lined up. I'm excited for this contest, on the contest-running side I'm confident we've learned from past successes and mistakes and it'll be one of the best contests we've ever held. I hope we'll get good participation to go along with that!
Sweet! can't wait!
Super pumped for this. This summer is going to sick.
