Topic: Lightsaber test with practical lighting

I threw this together the other day in anticipation of a future Star Wars project (oh horror, an IP film).

I used mini LED's inside transparent studs to try to make the visual effects blend more naturally into the scene. I'm curious how the effects came across - both the practical elements and the stuff in post.

Also, the sounds I used are from an audio pack I downloaded years ago, and I have no idea if they are copyrighted. Does anyone know of a legit source of Star Wars sound effects?

There are some by final cut king. I don't know his site or the link to them, but I can share them with you if you want. I'm pretty sure I stumbled upon them while looking up Youtube videos of free sources of sound effects. He has more than just Star Wars as well. The in-camera effects really help blend the lightsaber effect.

Very nice. I'd be curious to see a behind the scenes picture if you have one.

Thanks for the feedback!

Here's basically what the setup looked like:

I ended up just holding the green light up in the air until the reflection on the wall looked decent in the live view.
