I really like this! You accomplished some really smooth animation here. 
Interesting idea contrasting the different themes and eras like that.
Awesome transitions from one fig to the next
Thanks Raptor, I had to get this as smooth as possible for those transitions to work, and yep Hair In The Air, this animation was all about those transitions, so I am glad you pointed that out, thanks!
thistof, the idea really came from my kids, as we compared Lego from when I was a kid to the stuff they have now, and they couldn't believe how simple the 1970/80s figures were! That gave me the idea for the video...

Nice, smooth animation, visually interesting transitions and good breadth of minifigures. Can't get over the new space helmet on the supposedly classic space figure though...

JOCo - Yeah, I know man, but sometimes you have to work with what is available, and after several hours of hunting though my kids minifigure boxes for the right parts for as many figure parts as possible I had to give up and go with what I could find... new space helmets and all!
