A short, quick-paced action video about a guy in a video game, trying to beat level 1

Re: Level 1

I think this film gets a 4/5. Pretty impressive for a new guy;)

Re: Level 1

Most of the animation was choppy and it seems that it was at a low framerate. Get a software like monkeyjam and film at 15 fps (frames per second). Choppy means that the movements are too far apart so you should add extra frames to make the movements more fluent and smooth. Also, there were some one frame scenes that make the viewer confused and disoriented. Unless that is what you were trying to do, you shouldn't do that. You've got a great idea of camera movements and camera angles, but the pans, tilts, and dollys were also choppy like the animation. There was no light flicker, which is great and that scene when the main character was kicking an enemy was very smooth. There was great sound design, but you need to not clutter the sounds so the viewer is enjoying the sound, not being overwhelmed by it.

Good start and keep trying. Do those things that I've said above, and you'll get very good!

Re: Level 1

Hmm, that wasn't bad. Some of the effects (like the blood squashing on the screen and the lit up interior at around 0:25) were pretty nice. Animation was pretty choppy though, and remember to tape down camera and sets (or at least make sure they can't move while you're animating). All in all, certainly not bad at all.
