Topic: THAC 6: Mystery At Bricksonburg Bay

First, I would like to say that I had a lot of fun this year in THAC. Second, I would like to say that this is not my typical film, so be prepared.
I originally was going to have a very long, complicated storyline, but, well, I just got really exhausted. Enjoy. mini/bigsmile

Re: THAC 6: Mystery At Bricksonburg Bay

Question:
Could you please post a "Behind the Scenes" from the Frame in Timebase 00:37 ???
I like the shot with the bay in the back...

The water was really aluminum foil. As you can see, I had to be careful when filming to create the illusion of the island's size.

Re: THAC 6: Mystery At Bricksonburg Bay

I really liked where your film was going, it's a shame you ran out of energy to get it done.

If you do finish it off, it would be fantastic, but I think most of us have a few bad memories of this year's THAC (Mine being 25 sleep deprived hours) so it would be no suprise if you didn't finish it. I really look forward to more stuff from you in the future.

Re: THAC 6: Mystery At Bricksonburg Bay

THIS FILM ONLY HAS 25 SECONDS OF ANIMATION!!! DISQUALIFY IT!!!

Lol, just kidding. great film, hope there's a part 2.

"Animation is about creating the illusion of life. And you can't create it if you don't have one." - Brad Bird

Re: THAC 6: Mystery At Bricksonburg Bay

Thanks for all the supportive comments, guys. Part 2? Heh. May or may not be coming, but certainly no time in the near future. To comment on Splash Studios' comment about the amount of animation: It will probably get disqualified for not meeting the minimum amount of animation, but I think THACs are better for gaining experience than anything else.

Re: THAC 6: Mystery At Bricksonburg Bay

Real potential, you should finish it. The character's animation was convincing.
So many times we see arms raise and lower it brickfilm dialogue.
Your character had more, it had personality.

That was quite good. I really like the cinematography in the opening scenes; it reminds of the Jim Jarmusch film Dead Man. The aluminum foil looked great. mini/tongue I really think you should expand this concept, perhaps start it over again, as the THAC restrictions can get in the way of certain framing choices. By the way, was that you on the piano?

There were a lot of times when I wanted certain shots, but was unable to film them because of the mod element, so I agree with you on that.
And yes, that was me on the piano. mini/bigsmile
