1. We don't know what webcam you're talking about because you did not post it.
2. There are quite a few topics about this already. Did you consider searching for whatever webcam to which you refer to see if people already answered this question?
3. Why don't you want recommendations for the QuickCam Pro 9000?

Sorry i fixed it
This camera has a 720 pixel wide sensor, so dont get fooled into thinking its that fantastic. The camera manufacturer has again done its usual trick in quoting the resolution that the software interpolates from a standard grade sensor.
On the positive side the lens does appear to be quite large which is generally a good thing for image quality even if the resolution is low.
I read the article you gave about it and I have the software and a camera in the similar line of 'LifeCam' webcams. Mine doesn't really work at all especially for animation. I don't recommend using one just based on my own experience. And you can usually get a QuickCam Pro 9000 for the same price as the camera your looking into right now, so I can't see why you wouldn't want one.
My Camera, it works great. Oh, and the picture provides a link to the Logitech website. 
^Yeah, I got that camera, it's a good one.
What's wrong with the quickcam? It's only 10 bucks more
