Topic: I need software to make Mission Impossible style laser security grids

Hi,

For my lego movie I need a free software to make a laser effect, do you know of any suitable software???

Re: I need software to make Mission Impossible style laser security grids

Try LSmaker. You can probably make lasers in that

Re: I need software to make Mission Impossible style laser security grids

Yeah, but they're not very consistent.

I reccomend red lego poles.

Re: I need software to make Mission Impossible style laser security grids

What i would do is get some red, transparent plastic and cut the lazer out of that mini/sunnies  Yeah, i know, im cheap mini/cat

Use real laser pointers, that are mounted securely and the switch is fastened down? IDK..... mini/sad

If you have the ''LEGO Darth Vader, Lightning Lightsaber'' set, You could:
Cut the arm of, melt it to the other person Carefully, so it doesn't look like a big Fail.
Get some batteries, and you're all set.
-Jack.
Edit: Also, There's wires in his arm, prevent cutting them of.

That won't work. Lasers don't show up like they do in the movies. Only the spot where they hit something shows, while the beam remains invisible. Try LSMaker. Or PM a member who owns After Effects and ask them to do it for you.

Actually, this guy seems to have found a way to make normal light beams visible in photographs. I'm not sure how practical it would be for brickfilming, though, and I'm equally not sure if it would work with lasers, but it would be loads of fun to try. Here's an example:

Actually, Noodle, at my local 99 cent store, there are visible lasers. I'm not kidding! mini/bigsmile

If it's dark enough, it will light up. But, than again, you need to use lights, too...hmmmm....

Littlebrick, how on earth did they do that? I kind of want to know how. mini/smile

He uses water, I'm pretty sure.

Water and several drops of milk. He explains it in detail somewhere in his photostream.

EDIT: Here, in the comments, seven posts down.

Wow, that's cool. If you animated that though I don't think it would be consistent, and it would be getting water quite close to your camera, lights, and computer, which is not a good thing at all.

Re: I need software to make Mission Impossible style laser security grids

You could try using a laser shining through a transparent red or clear Lego piece?

Re: I need software to make Mission Impossible style laser security grids

I have after effects and may be willing to do the lasers for you, though I would have to compress the file to email it back to you.
NOTE: after the next after effects comes out I would be able to do it more easily for you as I wouldn't have to use my dads laptop.

I'm back. Possibly.
