Re: Printed Circuit - Brick It

Set design was amazing. So was the timing of the animation to the song. The animation felt choppy at times, but that might just be my screwy buffering.

Very nice film. 4/5

Most excellent. Beautiful set design and facial animation, I was really wowed by how emotive you could make the character (especially in subtle little changes in expression). Also, great timing and pacing with the song (though I think the song cut off at the end a little too abruptly), and the animation had lots of nice touches.

A very good film indeed, great work.

I'm really disappointed by that. Youtube have done something weird with it. I've put a Vimeo link on the first post now - that seems to be a bit better encoded.

Re: Printed Circuit - Brick It

Amazing, I didn't really like the music, but that's just me.
The best part by far was when you made the crowd jump during the concert.

Don't be fooled, my avatar is a facade of conformity.

Re: Printed Circuit - Brick It

Really nice work there, how long have you been working on it? Also I loved the way you used plasticine as the bed sheet.

I'm probably wrong here, but in this shot is the toilet a stormtrooper helmet.

Not a stormtrooper, a scout trooper.

Re: Printed Circuit - Brick It

Wow absolutely loved it! Everyone has pretty much described the flawless animation aspects, so I just wanted to say how much I loved the overall plot - particularly how you portrayed the repetitiveness of an average human living in a city and how this tone of dullness is dramatically changed by the music you chose for the entire film. Loved it!

God sounded like a right geek there. mini/tongue

I loved the story the most. This should have been a Septemberfest entry!

Yeah I had second thoughts after I posted.

For this one, Illustrator to draw the faces, After Effects to comp them into the stop motion footage, SMP4 for capture and Vegas for editing.

Re: Printed Circuit - Brick It

Very well done. I like that type of music a lot! I was just mildly disturbed by one scene:

I don't like having a plastic butt mooning me. mini/sad

Re: Printed Circuit - Brick It

Amazing stuff, I was blown away. The sets were absolutely gorgeous, the effects were seamless and the overall presentation was great! Printed Circuit is lucky to have a music video made by you! I look forward to the effects-less version of this...

It's ok, he's wearing yellow speedos.

Re: Printed Circuit - Brick It

I'd still see the butt cheeks. That's still considered "mooning" to me.

Re: Printed Circuit - Brick It

While agree that seeing the guy in the shower was a bit unessasary, LL, you don't have continuously post about it. Perhaps a shower curtain would have been less (strange?)

Re: Printed Circuit - Brick It

Agreed.

Re: Printed Circuit - Brick It

Just imagine that he's wearing a yellow jumpsuit if that helps. And try not to think about butt cheeks so much, maybe.

Re: Printed Circuit - Brick It

The Vimeo version did make the animation much better on my computer. Thanks for that! mini/bigsmile

And LL, you've been sigged. ;D

I have illustrator (if only I know how to use it!), would Photoshop do the same thing?
I don't have After Effects, I wonder how much it costs. Did you use this for the shower and lighting effects, as well?
I have no idea what SMP4 is (could you tell me?).
And I have Vegas.

Maybe I could try faces sometime. Anyway, I just noticed the toilet, I think that's just genius! This was my version of a toilet: http://imgur.com/5tLtas.jpg

If you guys were offended by the nudity in this film, then you're REALLY going to hate this:
