I must second this question.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Right now.  New theme:
Restore

Something a bit different than previous challenges that I've seen, make of it what you will.  Deadline is Monday, the 28th.
I'm out of town from next Thursday until Sunday, so Monday will give you a bit more time and me a chance to make it home.

Those frames are great, Legocloniac! I love the window on the right.

Two astronauts fixing a satellite. Wish you could see more of the satellite. mini/blankexpression

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

That's pretty cool, but the satellite isn't very detailed in it's design. You could have added a few stuffandthangs.

Alright, too late now.

And the winner is...Legocloniac477, with this frame!

I just love the visual of the minifigure in the middle of the two opposing 'sections' of wall, restored and not.
I especially like the added grittiness and pop the slight shadows gave it in the first one.  I'm curious though, how did you change the lighting between the two shots, besides obviously blocking off the light in the section behind the wall?
Nice work, your turn to pick the new theme!

Rockydude411, not bad.  The aspect ration, 4:3 from the looks of it, is definitely not my first choice.  I think it would have turned out better if you had a wider aspect ratio, perhaps 16:9, and had made the framing a bit better.  Right now the framing just feels off, almost like you'd be in the middle of a camera movement or something, rather than a nice and visually appealing cinematic still.

Both of you did very well with the theme!  Too bad more people don't enter these, I think they're quite fun and not very much work at all (not that I'm saying you can't make an epic frame and put a ton of work into the setup... *hinthint*)

I changed the position of the lamps as well as closing my curtains.

The new theme this week is distraction.
"Distraction is the divided attention of an individual or group from the chosen object of attention onto the source of distraction. Distraction is caused by: the lack of ability to pay attention; lack of interest in the object of attention; or the great intensity, novelty or attractiveness of something other than the object of attention. Distractions come from both external sources, and internal sources."

The deadline for this challenge is Tuesday, May 6.

I hope this isn't too difficult.

That's Amazing

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Very impressive, Loïc. I'd be very interested to see your setup (or at least the two images you combined to get that result), the light streaks across the character in particular are a nice touch.

The colors are better, but prefer the in-focus background.
