Staff Review

Randy Yard:
Warning: contains material that might be considered blasphemous by Christian viewers. One of Lewis' best to date, this six-minute short is comprised mainly of Santa relaying the hard times that various mythical characters have fallen on. It's not the most exciting concept you'll ever hear, but Chen has executed it so well that the resulting film is nothing short of extraordinary. The comic timing and voicing aren't perfect but well above average, and expansive CGI sets and effects only help immerse the viewer in the film's world. Add some humorous background animation to a script that was funny enough to begin with, and you have a very enjoyable short. Skip the offending parts if you must, but this is a film that should not be missed.
