Topic: Which webcam should I use?

Right now I am bidding on eBay for a Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 webcam... Is this a good choice?
If not, which one should I get instead. Before, I have a Cisco Webcam... Its not that great...

A 4000 is pretty good. It used to be the 'best' choice for brickfilming until the 9000 came along. If you can get it for cheaper than a 9000, go for it.

And lose the smilies in your sig.

Now I am getting the LOGITECH QUICKCAM PRO 9000 ON EBAY FOR $65.99 AND SHIPPING IS $7.99!!!
Isn't it usually $100?

Re: Which webcam should I use?

Have you actually won the bid yet or are you waiting for it to come. If you've done neither:
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-QuickCam … amp;sr=1-1

I'd go for that with the free delivery.

Oh noes thread hijack

In answer to your question, the Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro (which I think is the one you have) is a very very bad choice for brickfilming. It has no manual controls, which are, of course, essential for this hobby.

Haha! They advertise their perfect Autofocus, we all see it as a negative!

That's because outside of Brickfilming Autofocus is good.

Re: Which webcam should I use?

9k because i use this camera and alot of brickfilmers use it too...

Re: Which webcam should I use?

I have the cheapest, crappiest, "HiRes" webcam I could find; I (or anyone else, I suppose) should learn to animate before spending money on better hardware will pay-off.

As for the QC Pro 9000 vs. QC Pro for Notebooks, the comparison on logitech.com seems to favour the QCP for Notebooks (same price, all the features of the QCP9k and more). Add to that the fact that the QCPfN can simply clip to a brick (as opposed to needing a cradle), and the QCPfN might actually be the better choice for brickfilming.

I guess a dealbreaker would be poor manual control options on the QCPfN. Goldenbrick, could you shed some light on those?

Version 1 of the the screenplay for episode 2 of The Stunt is finishised, and I really, really] await your critique!

Re: Which webcam should I use?

I'm trying out a really, really cheap generic webcam at the moment. It's so cheap, the manufacturer refused to put their name on it.

I'm not expecting great results, but am cautiously optimistic...

Smile and say hello to people. It costs you nothing and can brighten their day.
