I have the cheapest, crappiest, "HiRes" webcam I could find; I (or anyone else, I suppose) should learn to animate before spending money on better hardware will pay-off.
As for the QC Pro 9000 vs. QC Pro for Notebooks, the comparison on logitech.com seems to favour the QCP for Notebooks (same price, all the features of the QCP9k and more). Add to that the fact that the QCPfN can simply clip to a brick (as opposed to needing a cradle), and the QCPfN might actually be the better choice for brickfilming.
I guess a dealbreaker would be poor manual control options on the QCPfN. Goldenbrick, could you shed some light on those?
