^ 'Sticky' means that it's a thread that wont move, it will stay at the top. Only mods can make a post stickied, btw.

Re: When looking for a new webcam.

I bought the LQP4000 a few months ago... the quality is terrible!!! I wanna buy a 9000 but what is the difference between a 4000 and 9000?!

The 4000 is old and has a maximum resolution of 640x480 pixels. The 9000 goes up to a native 2 megapixels (which is a resolution of 1600x1200). On top of that, the 4000 has been out of production for years and the 9000 is new.

The QuickCam 9000 is the new 4000. Though the 4000 still has superior focusing capabilities, being able to focus on things much closer to the webcam than the 9000 can.

Re: When looking for a new webcam.

Has anybody been able to get the QC9000 to work with Windows 7? I recently got a new laptop with Windows 7 on it.

Re: When looking for a new webcam.

Are these any good? http://www.amazon.co.uk/TeckNet-Webcam- … pd_cp_ce_1 They are cheap and I think they have good quality. I don't know much about these type of things...

EDIT: There is only one. I thought there was 2. There's not.

EDIT AGAIN: Amazon won't ship it so I can't get it in Ireland. I wish I could get this one. Anybody know where I can get it?

I believe Sprinkles has.

The QCP9k's Resolution is 2MP.

If you look up at what fib12345 said, it's totally wrong. If he actually read the starting post, he would know what resolution actually is. It just means that the Quickcam Pro 9000 has a 2MP sensor, so that's not resolution. I don't really have any tips right now except "Read the post before you write something that is incorrect."

I have a question. Is the Microsoft Lifecam NX-6000 good for Lego animation?

Don't get suckered by the high-definition capabilites, at 4 fps they're worthless. High definition aside, the NX-6000 doesn't live up to the price or competition.

I personally don't use a webcam right now.
I use a 10.1 MP Camera it take's great still shot's if you look at anything I have put on the site with legomation or just challenge's it has been taken with that camera.
And I also probably am not getting the 9000 I probably will be getting this webcam called HD Webcam or something like that from my unlocal BestBuy Super Store.

Re: When looking for a new webcam.

so, what would anyone recommend for someone with a low budget (I don't mind buying used; somewhere around $40-$80), doesn't know anything about webcams, and hasn't done a lot of brickfilming?

Re: When looking for a new webcam.

Probably the QC 9000. It's basically the standard for beginning brickfilmers, and you can get excellent quality out of it with a little tweaking. $60 new on Amazon right now.

Re: When looking for a new webcam.

Yes, the QC 9000 would be an excellent choice for someone with your budget. (Heck, it's an excellent choice for people with twice your budget.)

There's actually also a $20 mail-in rebate.
