The Force Unleashed
My entry into the lightsaber duel animation challenge. Turns out that making a duel is actually quite difficult, but I am pleased with how it came together.

That was freaking awesome ! The camera movements were superb, the fight was well choreographed, I'm just amazed. I guess the one thing that could be improved would be the lighting, as you could make it more dark and eerie, as it didn't quite look like a night shift imo. Though well done, that was fantastic .
I'm not going to properly review this because the words I want to use aren't appropriate for this site.
AMAZING, Jordan. Absolutely amazing. You've reminded me of how lazy I've become in my own animations. That was the slap in the face I needed.
CHEERS.
It wasn't only the animation that was great in this, but the timing, the choice of framing and shots. The gaps of silence building anticipation in between the intense sound design.
This is the type of stuff we all should be making. Push the limits.
(I'd like to see if anyone else will be bothering to enter "the lightsaber duel animation challenge" after seeing this HAHAHA)
That was awesome Fancypants! The animation was brilliant. To hell with the "lightsaber duel challenge", this could have been an entry into the Avant Garde. It's got animation like I've never seen before in a brickfilm. I loved it.
I'm absolutely with Keshen. This was extremely stupendous, and I definitely can't describe how impressed I was about this masterpiece that is spectacular in every aspect. So I'll just say that this was absolutely amazing, great work Fancypants. You've definitely set a benchmark with this one!

That was amazing! one question, how did u make the bricks tilt when they were floating?
Altough I already saw some stuff, it was kick ass. Maybe even more than that .
This duel is better than Star Wars itself. 5/5

Don't laugh too early dude. Filmyguy is entering too, and his video is the same high quality as this one. But besides him, people kinda have no chance to win, which is not fun for them. It's not about winning tough

wsow this was wonderful! the one thing i didnt like (And this isnt about the animation, just a minor storyline detail) by the time this game was made, the storm troopers all had blasters that shot red bolts, not blue. Still incredible though
The animation is very smooth! Pretty good effects too. You use After Effect? Good job, it's awesome!
Okay this is my first review for a brickfilm in years but here we go:
The Good:
-Nice, smooth animation
-Good pacing and a nice intensity and excitement to it
-Great lightsaber effects and great flips and stunts you make the minifigs do
-Well timed lightsaber sound effects, a very important element for such a film
-Good voice acting
Some things to consider:
-Shouldn't they grunt a bit when they're tossing stuff at each other or trying to kill each other with all their might? Some screams and stuff would make it a bit better in my opinion.
-Soundtrack? I know it's sometimes hard to obtain/compose one but it's the finishing touch and it would make it absolutely awesome and everything.
-There was one scene where I think the swings of the lightsaber went on for too long in the one shot. Maybe do it from a couple of angles and vary your cinematography? The shots were usually nice and varied but it seemed like a long exception at that section.
I think I'm going to give ratings for no apparent reason so 8.562 1/2 out of 10.
Bravo, I saw it, it is excellent very good animation
Ah, damn. I was much too late for first comment here or on youtube. Ah well, I needed the sleep. FancyPants, this is possibly the best animation ever made. It most definitely set a record in brickfilming history. The moves from the Force Unleashed game were all very well executed and modified. The moves and choreography of your own design were amazing. If there was one thing that I could pick at, it would be the lack of epic music. But that is a small flaw compared to the epicness this duel is.
Great job.
