This isn't necessarily new. This is the second BiM Awards this site has had, the year before it, there were the BAFAs (Brickfilm Achievement in Film Arts), and the two years before that, the BAMPAs (Brickfilming Achievement in Motion Picture Arts).

And no one "entered," they were nominated/picked by a panel. Think like the Academy Awards.

Glad to be nominated for VFX as well, although if Picturesque doesn't take that category I will commit seppuku.

Other than that, a lot of categories look pretty open. The River for Cinematography and Sound Design does seems like a shoo-in, though.
