SUPER DUPER EPICNESS mini/bigsmile

I do not care about your opinion, unless it has to do with it needing more ponies.

This is probably one of the best brickfilms since Unrenewable. Nice work. mini/smile

Re: Blood Feud

Wow mini/eek
Good job of making me falling of my chair.
This film finally shows that you don't need (alot) CGI to make it visually awesome.
The special fx was great but not overused and the atmosphere is done great (great color correction).
The story is going a bit fast, but that's more like a brickfilm tradition.
The voice-acting was pretty ok. I liked the girl as a narrator, but the kings sounded a bit like kids who acted like adults  (again, this more like a brickfilm tradition).

4.5/5 because you're my new favourite hero mini/smile

Re: Blood Feud

Wow dude, its about time someone made a descent lego war film.  Amazing job.

But I'll be honest, the plot was terrible.  You tried to take a Roman legend, 300, LEGO and stirred them together.  The resulting story was VERY predictable.  I like "Renewable" better, and this will not take its place.

On a lighter note, I was blown away by the technical aspects and animation, it was all superb.  Overall this film was very good, you have much potential.

Re: Blood Feud

AWESOME!!! mini/eek  5/5!!!

How did you animate the horse moving so well???  Also, what program did you use for the chroma keying and "animating" of the still images?  The effect was VERY well done!  In our opinion though, it would have been better without all the gore, but that's just our meager opinion, so don't take it seriously... mini/wink

Re: Blood Feud

A bit bloody, but I understand why you did it.  A very dramatic and visually impressive film, even if the plot was a little weak.  I was amazed by some of the things you accomplished in this film! mini/bigsmile

Re: Blood Feud

Thanks for the comments and criticism guys mini/smile Got to try out a lot of visual effects in this film, and that was the main motivation behind the movie. The plot became kind of second in line to that. None of us are very strong scriptwriters, so we did what we could. I hope the film is still entertaining though it is not, as they say, the deepest spoon in the drawer (nobody says that). I'm honored that this film is even being compared to Unrenewable. Appreciate it guys mini/smile

As for the technical questions, I did all the work in After Effects and Premiere Pro, and the animating itself in Dragon StopMotion 2.0.

Re: Blood Feud

The blood fit very good in each shot .. where do you get it? Or do you made it yourself?

The background was very good and real fantasy but at the end, where the two kings died was the Keying not as good as the whole movie. But at all .. I like it! Great job!

Re: Blood Feud

I have to say, this is a pretty good film. Technically, especially in terms of greenscreening and the looks of film, that was really cool. I loved the pictures in the beginning. The animation for the most part is very smooth, too. But I noticed a few points throughout the film that bothered me quite bit. While you have outstanding colors and nice pictures, I noticed that the figures were mainly positioned in the lower half of the screen. In nearly every scene, there was relatively much space at the top. If you had framed the shots a little better, it would have been more impressive cinematography-wise. Also, in some scenes you get to see the baseplate the minifigs are standing on, in others, they are completely greenscreened in the background. A unique solution there would have been better in my opinion.

Ignoring the very cliché story, this was a very solid brickfilm with nice visuals and good animation. Keep up the good work!

Edited to say how spectacular the horse-riding sequence looked.

Re: Blood Feud

That was pretty darn awesome. The foggy dusty battle scene looked perfect with the soldiers fighting in the background. Right down to the tiny spinning of the spear when it was thrown. The ending was a bit too open (and it was strange how he could look up even though he had a sword through him).

Now jumpcut is back, will we see Freedom Force 3 coming any time soon?

Re: Blood Feud

Extremely cheesy ending but otherwise nice film.

Re: Blood Feud

Visually very impressive! Good job creating a moody atmosphere, it was well suited to the subject matter. The multiple layers of fog worked very well and the overall colour treatment really brought it all together.

The horse animation was nice - you managed to hide the obvious drawbacks to animating a Lego horse very well. A small detail that stuck me: the flexing of the spear as it flew. Nice detail to support what would otherwise be a mundane tracking shot - it felt like it had been thrown with tangible FORCE. Great stuff. I also liked the sound work.

Having put that much work into the backgrounds (which I would think you had planned from the start) I'm surprised at the use of baseplates in the outdoor scenes - it really marked the line between the real 'on set' stuff and the later enhancements. Not a criticism as such but just something that occurred to me.

I'd agree with some of the other posters about the abrupt ending but no as much about the speed of the story. I felt the narration carried it and think that for the most part it works (although different than many popular films) in its own way.

Good work.

Now that you mention it, and now that I may get time, and have learned a few new tricks, it is quite possibe that the Fightmaster will return from his hibernation sometime before christmas. And now with added ass-kickery. ;)
Can't promise anything though!
