Parkour Battle

Parkour just got way more awesome.

Technically speaking, most of the tricks in this video aren't parkour, but the term is more widely known than tricking or freerunning so I used it for the title.

Re: Parkour Battle

Interesting tricks. Will keep in mind for future reference. mini/cat

I do not care about your opinion, unless it has to do with it needing more ponies.

Re: Parkour Battle

Interesting.

The animation was fairly nice and the pinwheeling camera movements were very impressive. The back and forth between the characters, however, didn't feel very dynamic and, as such, I think the characters' movement seemed more rigid because of it.

The atmosphere of the piece was kind of goofy, unfortunately. Even though it was basically a movement showcase, I think I would have enjoyed it more with some improvements background details - things like the set, the crowd noises, etc.

Re: Parkour Battle

The animation was smooth, and the tricking was very well done. So well done I even started to feel some nausea. It did start to drag on after a while though, and I thought it could have used some more atmosphere like Jargon said.

Re: Parkour Battle

Great video! Very well done. When you did the camera twists I screamed out WOW! mini/bigsmile

I need a new name! HELP

Re: Parkour Battle

Very nice, some impressive techniques were shown. Did he a do b-twist or a b-kick?

Re: Parkour Battle

Wow that was pretty cool! I liked when the minifigures were on the bar. Do you happen to have the unmasked version? (of the entire film) mini/smile

Re: Parkour Battle

That was fantastic! There were some very impressive techniques in this, but that has been mentioned earlier so i'll just stop there.

Great job!

Re: Parkour Battle

Great job!  Glad to see you're still making brickfilms  mini/wink  .  Not to sure about the story, as Jargon mentioned, it was more the technical aspects of the film that caught my attention.

Good work anyway though.

Re: Parkour Battle

That was really good keep up the good work! mini/smile

Re: Parkour Battle

Very well done as usual. The animation was done amazingly well, as were the camera angles. I really enjoyed this.

Re: Parkour Battle

Probably the best parkour/freerunning film I have seen. My only complaint is parkour is meant to have flow, these were just separte tricks, but I see you have explained that in the description.

Re: Parkour Battle

very nice man!! animation was very smooth, and the camera angles were excellent! 5/5 mini/smile

This animation is superb! I definitely enjoyed this film. mini/smile

Used to be 'Caidence'

Re: Parkour Battle

This was pure eye candy for me. The animation and effects were very well executed in this film (As usual mini/cat), and the crowds voices were great as well. I did feel that the film dragged on and on after a while, but it was still worth the watch.

4/5.

Re: Parkour Battle

I liked the camera twist replays.
The animation was some of the smoothest that I have ever seen.

Re: Parkour Battle

You're using Pixelmotion or something similar to smooth out the animation, right? It's incredibly smooth but it looks sort of artificial to me.  I like the kind of oomph and slight choppiness you can get in stop motion for fast/violent movements, which is sort of what I would expect in parkour but this all looks sort of slow to me.

It's still an impressive technical display, though!

Re: Parkour Battle

Thanks for all the comments, guys!

I did use a plugin called Twixtor to slow down and smooth a few shots, basically just the ones that are obviously in slow motion and have motion blending artifacts, but most of the tricks were at normal speed, and I actually removed frames I'd animated from a number of shots to speed the motion up. The tricks are sort of meant to be a little slower than they should be, since I wanted to avoid people having to replay a trick 5 times to figure out exactly what they saw, which I often do when watching real videos of this stuff. Maybe not as relevant here, but it was an experiment.
