Re: When looking for a new webcam.

Just for future reference, I got the C615 today and it seems good for brickfilming, full auto controls on a Mac with Webcam Settings app and works fine with iStopmotion. Quality seems fine.

Re: When looking for a new webcam.

Would anyone recommend a Logitech C270 HD webcam for animating? I am looking for a new camera or webcam to animate with now.

Re: When looking for a new webcam.

Would anyone recommend the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000? I'm considering buying one to try out some new animation techniques, since my DSLR is (great, but) clunky and difficult to film certain angles from (thanks to having an awkwardly spaced room).

The 9000 is a great webcam for brickfilming. (I've used it for all my films except my most recent one). But in my opinion the C920 is better. It can do 1080x1920 while the 9000 can only do 720x1280. The C920 also can do better in lower light (less noise). It also has a tripod screw. The one thing you have to do is turn up the color intensity a little so the yellows and greens look correct.

Re: When looking for a new webcam.

Thanks! I will bear that in mind, END.

Re: When looking for a new webcam.

I like my LQP9000, but I think it would be a smart to go with the C920 since it can do what END already  mentioned. However, and I need someone to verify/deny this, I'm not sure if it's like the C910 in that it only focuses 10% at a time, so you can't get a very smooth focus change.

Re: When looking for a new webcam.

I got a C910 for christmas last year and ended up returning it since it just didn't stack up against the QK9K when it came to versatility and the lack of features.

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?

The C920 has way more than 10 "notches". It does have less than the 9000 but not enough to make a huge difference.

I don't think you'll find much at that price. While there are some pretty cheap webcams, they won't be ideal for brickfilming.
