Topic: BiM down?

So....What happened there?
It was down for a while with some message about "This account has been suspended."
I'm glad it's back, but am left wondering if/when that could happen again.
Did somebody forget to pay the bills or what?

Re: BiM down?

WOOT! I'm glad it's back. But, it does beg the question; Why?

This was my fault. Forgot to switch the credit card for the hosting company. All taken care of now.

Re: BiM down?

A rather lackluster explanation.  Now that that is out of the way, why don't we embellish the story a bit?

Re: BiM down?

Putin held BiM hostage for 36 hours as a bargaining chip against Obama.

"The highly illegal and considerably extremist faction of a secular minority misinterpreted the acronym BiM for a secret governmental security contractor of the same acronymic name. They proceeded to hack the Bricks in Motion mainframe, whilst still preserving the perception that it was in fact a deep-net website containing sensitive data on the whereabouts of the national treasure. After a stressful bout of continuous computer hacking, the BiM security firewalls were finally breached and the website was brought down worldwide.

To their dismay, the extremist secular minority group discovered that they had, in fact, been on the receiving end of a proportionally large ruse by the US government. To make amends for their significant lack of monetary funds and wasted time, the group sold the the brickfilming website to the Cuban government for a sum of money numbering exactly one million US dollars. 24 hours after the website went down, the Cuban government resold their acquisition to the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea, who in turn returned BiM to the United States Government for a price of around 1000000.00 North Korea Won, or roughly 1111.11 USD. Finally, 36 hours after takedown, the website was restored."

Thanks for bringing the site back guys, i was experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

Re: BiM down?

When I first saw the message I thought my school blocked it (I was on a school issued chromebook) for doing something wrong. mini/shifty

Re: BiM down?

Thanks guys, glad it's back and paid for and everything. And yes, we need us a really good story.

At first I thought that I had been banned, and was trying to figure out what I had done. mini/lol

Same here. mini/yes

I thought I had been banned before I did a quick Google search. mini/lol

Re: BiM down?

Every time the site has downtime, I get emails from people who think they've been banned. It's sort of a funny thing to me.

The error message said "Account Suspended" which made me, and a good number of others, think we were banned. mini/tongue

Re: BiM down?

Yes. But historically, this happens regardless of the nature of the error message.
