Topic: Bricks in Motion: The Documentary

http://i.imgur.com/Tt0Kiq5.png

We're making a documentary about the world of LEGO animation! We raised funds via Kickstarter in September and October. As we begin work on the film, we've decided to keep the option open for those who wanted to back but either couldn't because of Kickstarter's payment requirements, or ran out of time. To learn more about the film project itself, please visit the Kickstarter page, or check out the teaser trailer.

Edit: Pre-orders are now closed. Thank you to everyone who supported this project!

Re: Bricks in Motion: The Documentary

Hey Smeagol],

Great to see you opening this option up for many members me included.

Now just want to ask until when will this option be avaiable for pre-orders? I'm really looking forward to getting either the $25 pack or just the 10$ viewer pack as I'd love to see the documentry.

Australia ohhh nice man mini/smile Come down under! mini/lol

Thanks,

Sincerely,
Divine.

It depends how quickly the content for the DVD and Blu-ray is finished. I think it would probably be safest to pre-order before November.

Re: Bricks in Motion: The Documentary

Do you have a rough schedule for your travel?

Re: Bricks in Motion: The Documentary

Yes, we're traveling and filming in North America from October 25 to November 11. I haven't scheduled Europe yet, but that will likely take place in January and/or February of 2015.

Re: Bricks in Motion: The Documentary

And while Smeagol and his crew (including MindGame during the California segments) are filming during that time, I'll be handling the Kickstarter backer rewards, except for the DVD, which will be handled by Doug. So many Bricklink orders on their way!

It depends how long it takes us to get all the content for the BiM Collection ready. Most likely, this will close sometime in early November.

Update: after some uncertainty about schedule, I can now announce that we'll be interviewing Brendan Henry, aka Ladon for the film. He's the creator of several brickfilms back in the day, such as Triumph of the Empire.

I'm absolutely excited to be part of this film! I'm also hoping that I can use my presence amongst the interviewees to help sell some DVDs to my extended family and friends mini/wink

Re: Bricks in Motion: The Documentary

Still in the process of buying equipment for the film. Most of it'll come out of pocket, since I'm keeping it and I want to put the budget toward travel and other such expenses.

I bought a vintage zoom that had a nice look to it, but unfortunately it had a bunch of stuff inside the glass that wasn't on the user description. Returning this one, ordered another one off of KEH. Should have gone with KEH the first time, didn't think to check if they offered this lens!

Canon FD f/3.5 35-105mm lens. Has a great texture to it, can't wait to use it for some of the city shots and such in the documentary.

Now on the IMDb!

Their approval process is strange and multi-phased; I promise I didn't only credit myself.

Re: Bricks in Motion: The Documentary

I just got an Amazon gift card in the mail. Would Amazon be acceptable as well?

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: Bricks in Motion: The Documentary

Incredibly, Amazon had a service for years that offered that ability, but they closed it today.

I'm always open to receiving money from people by means other than Paypal, but I don't have the resources to ensure we can do it by other means right now.

We now have a Bricks in Motion Facebook page for those interested! There's not much on it right now, probably it will eventually host updates in a manner similar to the Twitter account.
