Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

Incredible. The space animation was great, and the music went along well with the story which was very well told with no voices.

Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

This is one of my favorite entries. The sound design is wonderful and really helps aid a story with no dialog. The lighting and look of the film work very well. The story is a bit cliche but it is told well so it doesn't matter. The score fits perfectly with the film. Great job.

Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

Excellent job on the camera pans aswell.

My profile picture is deep fried lol

Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

Fantastic job on this rio! Such a simple but touching little story. Probably my personal favourite film to come out of this contest so far. mini/smile

As AquaMorph pointed out, the sound design was top notch and added immensely to the film's emotion. I love how you managed to pull off the low-gravity effect in the film. Great job to If I Were A Minifig on the music too!

This is incredible. The sound design and animation are all superb!

Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

This is the most beautiful brickfilm I've seen all year.  It is glorious.

In addition to what has already been said, Great job!

Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

Great job Rio,
I love the design of the film as a whole. I couldn't wait to see the finished product. And thanks to all of you who enjoyed the score (I'll be posting it tomorrow (shameless plug)) mini/lol

But seriously, Rio, this film is on point. I especially love the opening "working" scene. The whole visual design of that sequence is really fabulous.

Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

This is probably the best entry I've seen yet. Good pacing, a strong aesthetic, and strong sound. It was lovely.

Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

A lot of brickfilms that try to be dramatic and emotional kind off fall flat for me but this really worked, good job on that, this kind of transcends it's own medium.

Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

Beautifully made!

Really fantastic job with that!

Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

WOW, that was beautiful. The low gravity animation was superb, and that overhead dolly. mini/love The score was equally powerful, great job, IIWAM.

Using the broken torso and messed up helmet were great touches. Man, I just love this entry.

I can't say I've figured out how that hair fit into the helmet, though.

Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

Wow, I'm glad you guys are liking the film! It really means a lot to me. I really worked hard on this film, and glad people are enjoying watching it.

And yes, thank you for your awesome composition, If I Were A Minifig! Without your music, this film wouldn't be what it is. You did a FANTASTIC job. mini/bigsmile

Thanks, I wasn't sure if I would be able to pull that off, it was rather difficult. I'm glad the effect worked.

I'm glad you thought the emotions worked well. It's awfully hard to make minifigs have emotion, and I was worried that it would be corny.

Haha, that is a secret not even I know the answer to. But hey, it's sci-fi, there are always mysteries in space. mini/wink

Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

Amazing. One of the best brickfilms I've seen all year!
All the little techniques you have used worked really well!
The music now; in my opinion the best composed piece of music without a doubt. It fitted in extremely well!

Re: Sola Luna [D&L Entry]

The lighting, cinematography, sound design, and mood were very well done, it looked very cinematic, although the camera movements not being smooth detracted from the mood I'm not sure how you did them but making a rig or using a ruler might really help, although I realize how hard it is to do camera moves without an animation program [unless you got one ether way its still hard and I respect you for trying it, even though it was not to smooth I think it still really did help]

Over all it was a very nice film !

One word to describe this brickfilm: Wonderful mini/smile
The camera movements, the soundtrack and that fluorescent yellow lights made possible this fabulous atmosphere. Fantastic work!
