Re: Post Your Music!

Here's a piece I did in the style of John Williams and the composers that brought Star Wars games to life! Perhaps it'll end up in the revitalization of this project...

Jedi Temple At Dusk

Thoughts and comments are appreciated. I'm quite new at mixing with the EastWest Hollywood Orchestra (couldn't use it much before with weaker pc specs).

My first attempt at composing, enjoy.

I didn't bother to learn this myself, so I just used the synth to play it, that is why the quality sounds kinda....bad.

Thanks! mini/bigsmile

Re: Post Your Music!

That's some impressive stuff. I especially like the end.

Re: Post Your Music!

Really good work, GEF, love the old school ragtime feel of it.

Re: Post Your Music!

Thanks, it is encouraging to hear that your thoughts on it were positive.

Re: Post Your Music!

I'm a musician, so it would make sense that I'd find this post eventually.

For my brickfilm Lego Space Police Dystopian Future, I worked way too hard on the music and it's not getting the love. So I thought I'd post that video of music here!

Info:
  -  Music from LSPDF
  -  Me, Zach S. (ft. Miles D. on Guitar)
  -  Electronic Pop, Baroque Pop (orchestra), Funk, Hip-Hop
  -  Instrumental, Made on Garageband (Only two apple loops are used, okay?). Instruments used: Yamaha Synthesizer, Gibson SG Guitar, Williams Overture Piano

In the description of the above video link, there is a link to the final film, so go check that out too! mini/smile

Re: Post Your Music!

Nice job LegoLorax! This sounds like a combo of cop show music, the music used in commercials for old LEGO space sets, and something funky and poppy all at the same time. Question, what Yamaha Synth did you use? Was it one of the Reface Models? Or the MX49? Overall, good job. Very punchy and clean. mini/smile

EDIT: Watched the original video. Very random, but you made it work. Good job!

Re: Post Your Music!

I enjoyed this too.  The first one reminds me of the catchy melodies of early synthesists.  The third one a bit funky.  The sixth one really splendid: very baroque, and then suddenly the rhythm comes in!  But it all has thay spry, spunky early synth sound that I love.

Also, since we're posting a lot of instrumental music, here's one from a single I recorded, the instrumental version.  It's called Club Dub and is in 8/12 time.

Let me know what you think of this, and my earlier postings!

I only used my synthesizer on the last song Knockoff Sonic. (the rest are the MIDI instruments provided by Garageband)

The synthesizer is a Yamaha YPG235.

The instrumental is packed with so many details! I like the high punchy synth. Also I liked the beats and percussion. I liked hearing the melody at the end. That alarm sounding noise is cool. But the best part? ... The best part is that there's a version with words! mini/XD

Re: Post Your Music!

Heroic Gestures
  -  Composer: 64studios10(aka me!)
  -  Genre: Soundtrack: Action/Adventure
  -  Description about the song: This is I bit of music that I composed/improvised on my electronic keyboard in early 2017. I imagine it could be used as some sort of heroic theme, or during an action sequence. It's quite simple, but I'm rather satisfied with the result, even though it isn't perfect (it has a few small mistakes). It's not Royalty Free, but I have no problem with anyone using it, though I would appreciate credit. I'd also be interested in feedback, especially since this is my first post on this site! Also, I should note that the percussion in the background was a setting on the keyboard, not something I did.

Re: Post Your Music!

Got EWQL's Symphonic Orchestra for my birthday a while back, and just now got around to really messing about with it. Here's the first "fully orchestral" track I've done with it. Not for any project in particular, just for fun!

Symphonic Test

This one has a sort of mysterious vibe... almost fantasy like. Enjoy!

I don't think I've posted any of my kazoo music here. This is 'If Ye Love Me' by Thomas Tallis:

Loving those lo-fi beats, chosen1. I always seem to have trouble attempting that genre myself. Any tips?

Re: Post Your Music!

It's a treat whenever someone composes an original score over using a canned MacLeod track. The intro/basic beat is cool, the bass synth could be a little louder in the mix, imho. The melody on the strings sounded a bit like you pasted the drum beat onto the string staff on your midi software. I think a slower or more simple melody would contrast the intense drum beat better. The whale calls and whiny synth sounds were a nice touch though. Great action film, can't wait to see (and hear) the next installment!
