Here is my Demo reel:https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2r4RD sp=sharing
Nice, it was funny
Please let me know what you think! I've been meaning to do one for a while and finally have one done.
Hoverfrogfilms, it looks fine, there's nice animation in it, but maybe it's a little too long (I have the same problem, I should cut it down a little).
Despite having begun with brickfilms, there's none of that in my showreel, but I feel like I should put some stop motion work in it.

What would you suggest as a good length?

Probably between 30 secs and 2 mins. Being able have everything you need to show in 1/1.30 minute would be ideal.
Also, if you use it to showcase your work to a potential client, you should put your contact information in it.
Here's my reel with my best animation from last year.
Sorry about the double-post but here's my new demo reel.
